Pros: 1. Cottages are literally in between trees. You can enjoy nature while lying on bed. 2. Food was okay. Cons: 1. Their most expensive cottage- Suite- is not at all worth it. It was big gaps between walls. Spiders and insects share room with guests. The property is 10 years old. Bathroom was very shabby. 2. The manager is a clown. He tried to be funny but was not. Given that breakfast is complimentary, he'll try to trick you into taking cheap breakfast option- to make profit. Lacks professionalism. 3. The property is located right on Jorekhola road, but the cottages are not. We had to climb up and down 100 steps to reach our cottage. Parents ans senior citizens will have hard time climbing the stairs. 4. Rooms are not equipped with basic amenities- a cupboard, rack, mirror.

Lovely place with breathtaking view and calmness. Those who want to stay away from city/ noisy atmosphere can opt this. The service is too good. Food is very affordable and tasty too.

Nestled in the serene embrace of a pine forest, Orion Retreat in Darjeeling offers a truly enchanting escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is nothing short of breathtaking, surrounded by towering trees and the soothing sounds of nature, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility and rejuvenation. The accommodations are cozy and well-appointed, providing a perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. The design harmonizes beautifully with its natural surroundings, creating a peaceful ambiance that invites relaxation. Whether you choose to unwind on your private balcony or explore the lush trails nearby, the setting is simply magical. However, while the atmosphere and surroundings are exceptional, the dining experience leaves room for improvement. The food, though prepared with care, could benefit from a bit more variety and creativity to match the high standards set by the location itself. Enhancing the menu with local flavors and fresh ingredients would undoubtedly elevate the overall experience for guests. Overall, it's a gem in Darjeeling for those looking to escape into nature. With a little enhancement in their culinary offerings, it could easily become a top choice for travelers seeking both peace and a memorable stay.

Never visit this place if you genuinely wants to be fit & healthy during traveling in hills. Spiders are there in the rooms alongwith various other insects all the time. They will serve your mills at their designated places, which is not even properly cleaned after every Mill time. They do not even bother to behave poorly once you check in. I strongly suggest to skip this resort & head directly to the main darjeeling mall area or Chowk Bazar area for an all round convenience

According to me the location is too good for relaxation and stay..but I will write down some genuine points where I have had worst experience. 1.they had 4 type of rooms-standard,delux,super deluxe and family hut.The cottages of these rooms is far down the forest i.e we had to get down almost 100 stairs where we had booked delux rooms. If any old age people books, think what will happen. 2.the prices of these rooms are quite expensive, I had booked delux room they took 2000 for each day where no meal is included u have to take every meal with extra payment.we paid 2000 advance and they took another 2000 at the time of check-in since we booked for 2 days. 3.the location is in the midst of sonada and jorebunglow to be exact in jorekhola where not a single restaurant is there for food and if u want to go to Darjeeling market u have to book a share taxi for 60 rs. 4.the rooms are tidy, clean but there are bugs and spiders everywhere since the cottages are made of half wood and half cement. And there are no extra electric kettle is given in the room they are taking 2000 and no electric kettle is given. 5.About food also they are taking extra but quantity is very low quality is good but they are making food too spicy. I have mentioned 5 genuine points if anybody wants to come to this hotel please go through these points.Overall if you come for relax and refreshment then u can book it but if u are here for sightseeing then sorry it is not for you.

first of all let's talk about the place , it is a great place very quiet peaceful area. The rooms are below average , and lack of basic amenities like wardrobe, electric kettles. One more thing there is a specific time (last timing 9 o'clock) for making bonfire (which is not mentioned in their terms & condition also ) which they didn't even tell us about it and also the last time to have dinner is 9 o',clock so we had dinner at that specific time and go in front of the bonfire to light it again but surprisingly the manager came and poured water on it and he didn't even tell us about it . overall everything else was fine and the food was fine also .

Staying inside hill forest was a great experience . Deer spotted multiple times in the early hours and night. Food quality is excellent. Pure serene. Must visit place for nature lover.

My experience at Orion Retreat was far from pleasant. The service was poor and the staff were nonchalant and unhelpful throughout. I asked for warm drinking water and was repeatedly given cold water instead. Requesting an extra towel turned into a whole argument--initially met with excuses, I had to push just to get something that should've been basic. The bathroom was below standard, with no proper tiling, making it feel unhygienic. They also misled us about the location--told us it was just 2-3 km from Jore Banglow, but it was over 6 km. When I raised this at reception, the person casually replied with a "maybe," which is not acceptable. To top it off, the room allotted was slightly slanted and looked nothing like what was shown online. I'm paying not just for a room, but for decent service--and Orion Retreat failed on all fronts. Would not recommend.
