Jaideep Mazumdar

Stayed in an AC room for one night on Dec 11, 2023. It was terrible. We had to carry our heavy suitcases to the second floor up a narrow staircase all by ourselves. Some parts of the room like the sink and electric kettle were filthy. We were not provided drinking water glasses, the cupboards for hanging clothes were dirty. The room was grossly overpriced and the host was least bothered about our comfort and convenience. A boy who is a helper was rude and unprofessional. The layout of the room was wierd with a wash basin placed immediately on entry. It was a terrible experience and I would request everyone to avoid this place like plague

Best homestay to stay, in Siliguri. Very homely, enviornment. Best place to stay, feels like a home.

Stayed for a day. Situated at college para walking distance from Court more where you can reach easily by public transport from Junction, NJP, Bus Stand. Aunty ji is the owner of the property and she is caring, very polite and cooperative. Rooms are well decorated, neat and clean, well maintained. Available at a reasonable price.

Filthy rooms, dirty bed linen, terrible service, guests have to carry their own luggage up two floors, no tea/coffee satchets and no one to attend to even basic needs. Guests have to call the owner on her cellphone and half the time she does not respond. There's no kitchenette as is claimed and only a filthy electric kettle. Staying at this property was a terrible experience, my worst so far

Owner is very rude. Place is very dirty. Rooms are very dirty. Rooms is full of wood mites. Also they provided torn pillow covers. We asked for extra blanket due to extreme cold, which they refused to provide. We cooked our own food there, but they didn't provide proper utensils and also didn't clean the dustbins on a daily basis. Moreover, the owner lady has a dog which is not trained and pees everywhere. The pee wasn't cleaned even after complaining for several days. It was such a painful stay for us. Since we had to make the full payment beforehand, hence may be we got this treatment. Also the TV in the room wasn't working and the owner lady didn't give any concession for this.

We arrived here during the pujas with our dog. We were immediately treated with massive disrespect, despite this being our third time in this homestay. The AC was not functional, the room didn't have a fan, it was covered in lizard excrement, bathroom was tiny, room was extremely cramped and dusty. The owner refused to give us the bigger and better room that we had stayed in the previous two times because we had our dog with us. She lied about various other rooms being occupied when we asked to switch rooms. Finally, she gave us a comparatively bigger room but this one was basically still on the verges of being completed. It didn't have a cupboard, no sink or basin, bathroom didn't have a shower or a bidet. The room was covered with ants crawling out of the cracked walls and was literally crumbling. She demanded 200 daily to use the basin in the dining area- which was insane considering that a basin is a basic room requirement. She refused to give us the food we asked for, saying that it was not a hotel and we would have to eat whatever she gave us, and gave us oily overly sweet food from outside even though we specifically requested for light home cooked meals since my father is diabetic. Breakfast was supposed was "complementary", and she gave us a choice between roti sabji and bread. We asked for roti and she said she would only give us jam and bread and nothing else; I reiterate, my father is diabetic. Since there was no refrigerator anywhere in the room, we had to refrigerate our dog's food in her personal refrigerator. My mother asked the owner if she could atleast provide some chicken stew daily as our dog cannot eat the same reheated chicken everyday- it'll rot. She refused with much disdain and nonchalance which was astonishing considering the fact that she has her own dog as well. The house is disorganised, dark, and literally crumbling but the worst part is the owner's sheer refusal to treat us with basic respect. She is rude, dismissive and aggressive- constantly picking fights with us. It was truly the worst homestay I've ever stayed in and I would definitely recommend you to stay elsewhere if you were planning to stay here. It is not worth it at all.

i stayed at Aamar Kutir for one night. And it was a very pleasant stay. The rooms are simple and comfortable with basic amenities. It is a quiet place and undisturbed. However the best part about this place is the host. She is a warm and helpful lady. I requested her to make breakfast and lunch for me and she made delicious meals for me. She also helped me catch a tuktuk to the nearby autostand, which was an emergency since the cab did not turn up. Will definitely visit again.
