The Denmark Tavern

This is a majestic place on its own.A massive open dining hall where you feel closer to everyone having a good time. The food is of very high quality and extremely delicious.The quantity is a concern but you can ignore that if you look at the great positives of the place. The delivery personnel are very relaxed and allow you to enjoy as long as you wish. After enjoying the meal,you can go upstairs to see the beautiful building and corridors. And then open a giant door and reach the balcony,where you can sit on a sofa or stand and enjoy the view of free flowing Ganges! Just not the food,but look at the place like a nice outing site.Very beautiful and highly impressed.If you haven't yet gone here while you love travelling and eating,this should be your next spot!

Located in the outskirts of serampore, this place features a style similar to the colonial era of India. Its a subsidiary of the The Park hotel in Park Street, Kolkata. Food here is very good and cleanliness is top notch. Reaching there is a bit difficult and you need to rely on any map service

Overall experience was very dispointing - much below expectations , considering the hype in the media. The Ganges bank opposite the Tavern is full of rubbish & discarded/damaged cars. Apparently the Heritage Property has been taken over by the Park Hotel Group - maintenance, including front facade & entry lobby, doors etc is shabby. The restaurant is offering standard nort indian fare - with one two items having Danish name attached- but dishes are not authentic. The prices are exorbitant & portions dismal - they are just minting money on the heritage tag. The Doors leading to the kitchen & the toits had defective Door Closures making banging noise each time some one stepped in or out. I strongly recommend that property should be handed over to a local entrepreneur/group who would be proud of their heritage property & be involved in day to day operations.

Very nice restaurant with a European feel. Located near the river on a narrow street of Serampore. A little difficult to reach but a really good experience. Food is good with some danish stuff on the menu but on the expensive side. Overall very nice. Strongly recommend.

Giving it a 5 star for the heritage and the overall vibe. The place had an old world charm. Don't look forward to the food though. That's your average cafe food that you can get in every city, town or village.

Very pleasant Danish interior. You can just visit there and enjoy the ambience. Taking food is not mandatory. Foods are overpriced and quantity is very very less. If you want to try authentic Danish cuisine then one time visit is fine but not recommended

The Denmark Tavern offers a stunning location with beautiful views of the ghats, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The cafe itself is a cozy place, perfect for sitting and chatting for hours, surrounded by lush greenery. However, when it comes to the food, it fell short of expectations. We tried the plum cake, blueberry muffin, and coffees, but unfortunately, none of them impressed us. The muffin, in particular, wasn't fresh, which was disappointing. While the ambiance is lovely and inviting, I wouldn't recommend the cafe solely for its food. That said, if you're looking for a serene spot to relax and soak in the views, it's still worth a visit.

We had trouble to park because of the narrow lanes and no clear indications of parking. The auto drivers misled us and we had quite some problem to park. Food was very average on the basis of what they are charging. On asking about the quality and preparation the chef made us the food again which was still better. The restaurant needs to give more focus on the menu and food preparation.
