LAXMIBARI-Homestay

We had a wonderful stay at Laxmibari homestay! The room was cozy and comfortable, featuring a balcony and an attached toilet on the first floor. The bed is big enough to accommodate three adults. The location is superb--just a 10-minute walk from Hazarduari and only 5 minutes by car. It's situated right beside the South Gate and the beautiful River Bhagirathi. The homestay also has a dining area where you can enjoy outside food, with a drinking water facility available. The bathroom is western-style with a geyser, ensuring a comfortable stay. The rent is quite reasonable, and the room is provided with towels and toiletries. The garden on the balcony adds to the homely, cozy feel of the place. Everything is exceptionally clean and well-organized. The owner Santanu da is very knowledgeable and helpful, offering great advice on local restaurants, sightseeing spots, and shopping places. He is always approachable and greets you with a warm smile. He's also a talented photographer! In short, this is a fantastic, budget-friendly homestay that we highly recommend.

I stayed there with my family from 16th-18th Mar'24 , all of us had a wonderful experience. The owner of the property Santanu Da is very helpful person and a very knowledgeable person for the history of this Murshidabad. As our train was late for around 2.5 hrs we lost almost one half day the day we reached. But he provided the plan and also instructed his toto driver( Sunny Bhai) what route to follow so that nothing gets missed. The service we got from him was like we feel like we are real guests of his family. The way he interacts with my family and helped me in each day plan seriously we didn't feel that we are just tourist for him. If you wants to know history of Murshidabad just interacts with him, he will tells the history like you will feel you are belonging in place of Nawabs. The local guides are also respects him a lot because he is the trainer for them as well which I came to know while I interacted with one guide in Khosh bag. He is also writer and wrote many books with the history of Murshidabad and published, and as I am a book lover I have taken 3 books from him and those are real gem, if you want to know in brief. Along with that he had good collection of Historical places photography which he only shoots. Our driver Sunny Bhai also was a very nice person , from Murshidabad station dropped to boarded again he provided his best. All over the stayed in this home stay makes our stay most rememberable and it is close to Dakhin Darwaja and ghanta ghor (100m) and Hazarduari (850m) , one can easily roam around in morning and reached Hazarduari with small foot steps. Regarding rooms , are very clean and property is well maintained.

We had an excellent experience. A very homely environment and a friendly host (special mention) made our trip to Murshidabad even better. The food was delicious as well. I am definitely looking forward to staying there again on our next trip to Murshidabad. Highly recommended for everyone.

I along with my husband, my 6yr old son, my brother and my parents visited Murshidabad last week and we stayed at Laxmibari Homestay which we had pre booked a month ago. Murshidabad trip has always been in my wish list which finally I fulfilled and that too so well. The most satisfying thing of my trip was our stay at Laxmibari Homestay owned by the very modest and homely Mr. Shantanu Biswas. He welcomed us so well and made us feel like home. The rooms were exactly the same that we have seen in the photos. We were so happy and satisfied that we got such a nice, clean and comfy place to stay. Our host is a gentleman as well as a good story teller as we got to hear a lot of things about this great historical destination from him. He guided us very thoroughly as where to visit and what to see within our limited time frame. I must mention the cook Sonamoni Di and the Toto driver Sanjoy Da, both of them did their jobs very well. Lastly I again want to say that if you visit Murshidabad then you must stay at Laxmibari Homestay, not only you'll feel good but will also feel contended and happy like us.

Property is Good & Well Maintained. Clean surroundings. But the Main problem is the Locality. You will not get any Eateries nearby to this Homestay. Stayed in this Homestay with my Family for 2 Nights from 10th -12th Dec. The Rate they take as per the present room amenities is Over Priced. You will get much cheaper Hotel with Good rooms nearby at Murshidabad. the Owner of this place just take the advantage of being recognized by India Tourism. There is NO TV in the room & Intercom do not work. Food is a major problem. The Owner Mr. Santanu Biswas is polite but always push the guest to go for the sightseeing in his pre booked Vehicle only which feel like he gets Commission from them. He seems to teach many things about tourism but being in the same field I don't fall in his trap. He is a Polite person but don't know some basics of make tourist Happy. People just wants to relax & stay in the room can only opt for this.

Well,it is needless to say that any homestay which has got an affiliation from Government of India,will have a good rating of cleanliness and hospitality.This homestay,Laxmibari Homestay,is also not an exception to the above fact.The view,the surroundings and the environment of the homestay,is just marvellous.The garden, infront of the homestay,has some beautiful flowers and it is very refreshing to pay a visit here.The owner,Mr.Santanu Biswas,is a very polite person,and to know about history of Murshidabad from him can be considered as a gift of visiting this homestay.He seems to be a living encyclopedia of Murshidabad. He helps you to plan your tour perfectly,but never forces you to follow that.Along with all these facilities,the food we got from here cooked by Sonamaoni di is very delicious and is always according to the requirements we requested to her.

Last week we stay at this Homestay for 3 days but never we fell that this not our real home. It's a very good ambiance with good homely food . It's owner Santanu Biswas really a amazing personality with helping nature. I highly recommend for this home stay.
