Hotel Ballygunge Luxury

We travelled from the South and I stayed here with my Mother for 3 nights. Ballygunge area was recommended by a couple of friends from Kolkata, safety and neatness wise to stay. It was also well connected to most of the places we wanted to visit. The hotel was decent, a budget stay, we had what we needed since we weren't in the room too often to enjoy any other kind of amenities. The receptionists (4 in total on a shift basis) were sweet and responsive. The breakfast was simple yet tasty, however the breakfast area was still under conversion from some party hall, which could be kept more appealing and neater. All-in-all we liked the stay here, value for money.

Got here for the wedding of a family member. The hotel gave me a heartwarming welcome. The service was great and they make very good coffee! The room was also great, very comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. Top quality especially for Calcutta!

I am quite regular in this property. For me it's one of the best property in kolkata. Rooms are quite big with french glass windows. Very neat and clean rooms with hygienic washroom. Their must try items are kebabs , chinese items, pastas. Staffs are very helpful and polite.

I would request anyone planning to stay here, please don't. This hotel is a cheater and has harassed me to no limit. I am 8 months pregnant and booked 9 rooms for my family who were visiting for my baby shower. I had booked it 1.5 months earlier keeping in mind the wedding season. I had paid 50% of the advance. 20 days later i happen to call them for food enquiry and only then they informed that they have given all the rooms to the wedding party and have cancelled us. Then they even refused to pay us our money saying that they have non-refundable policy and we can use the money to stay within a year. It was the most shocking thing i could have come across. I had to visit the place in my last month of pregnancy, argue with them to get my money back. I even heard the owner talking to the manager while i was waiting in the reception saying that they should overbook for the other guests since not all turn up. This is the value system they work on. I am posting this after getting my refund

Poor service just ruined the whole stay. Food takes hours to be prepped. One day we ordered food at 8pm and at 10pm they say we cannot give it, please order from outside. Breakfast becomes chargeable if the hotel doesn't setup a buffet on their own judgement. Banquet has loud music and parties till late night (2am) which is against local policies. They don't care for the residents sleep. They even charged us for breakfast even though our voucher on their own judgement booking said it is complementary. Outrageous. Overall a bad experience, the staff is too stringent with ways that do not support guests and they are unwilling to help. Would not recommend a stay here.

The room was pretty and clean and the area is pleasant. But beware they will almost always ask to cancel your booking and ask for an extra premium for the room. They don't allow outside food but their restaurant is very bad, serve stale food.

The hotel and the rooms are very well maintained. Stayed for 2 days here. The staff are pretty helpful. The location of the hotel is great and is few mins walkable from main road. The best thing about the room is they are spacious, well ventilated and got washrooms which are also good in size and clean. Overall, it was a lovely stay. The price is also reasonable. I booked it from goibibo and ease my trip websites.

The front desk was so nice and helpful! They have excellent chai and great service. It didn't quite reach 5 stars for me because the floor in the room could have done with a mopping, the shower didn't get very warm, and the rooms are not very soundproof.
