I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so overwhelmingly negative that I feel compelled to share the full extent of my frustration. To say I was disappointed would be a monumental understatement. This establishment has deteriorated beyond recognition. What was once a place I could recommend without hesitation has now become a place I wouldn't suggest even to my worst enemy. Let me start with the staff - and I use the term "staff" very loosely here, because what we encountered was a group of individuals who seem to have been trained in the art of maximum rudeness. They were VERY RUDE. VERY VERY VERY VERY RUDE. I cannot stress this enough. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were a burden rather than guests. No greeting, no smile, no courtesy - just dismissive glares and snappy, condescending tones. Any simple request was met with eye rolls or outright ignoring us. It's one thing to be understaffed or busy, but it's an entirely different and unacceptable thing to treat paying customers with open hostility. But sadly, the staff was just the beginning of the problem. The overall quality of the experience has dropped off a cliff. Everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - has gone downhill. The atmosphere feels neglected, the cleanliness is questionable at best, and there's a pervasive sense that no one cares anymore. What happened to the standards? What happened to pride in service? Even something as simple as the welcome drinks, which used to be a lovely touch, has now become a joke. The variety has decreased dramatically - once a small but delightful detail that made the experience feel special, now reduced to bland, watered-down offerings that feel like an afterthought. What used to be five or six flavorful options has now been cut down to maybe two, and neither of them were palatable. It honestly feels like management has completely given up. It's as if they think no one will notice the decline, or worse - that no one cares. But I noticed. I cared. And I walked away from this visit feeling cheated, unwelcome, and genuinely upset that I spent my time and money here.

Our family trip to Kolkata was truly unforgettable, thanks to the wonderful experience we had at The Lindsay Hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and prompt service that made us feel right at home.||You simply can't beat the location--right in the heart of the city, just steps from the iconic New Market and close to major attractions like the Indian Museum, Victoria Memorial, and Park Street. We could walk to most places or easily hop onto nearby transport.||We stayed in a well-appointed family room that was both spacious and comfortable. The beds were cozy, the air-conditioning worked perfectly (a must in Kolkata!), and the room was always spotless thanks to the attentive housekeeping team.||The highlight for us was the Blue & Beyond rooftop restaurant--stunning city views, delicious food, and a peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed both Indian and continental dishes, and the kids especially loved the desserts! ||The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Whether it was arranging transportation, helping with directions, or offering extra amenities for our children, their hospitality was truly five-star.||The hotel also features a small but well-equipped fitness area, reliable Wi-Fi, and excellent room service. We felt safe, well-cared for, and thoroughly relaxed.||The Lindsay is perfect for families looking for a central, clean, and friendly place to stay in Kolkata. I have booked this 3 star property/hotel for 4 days. |Nearest to the US Embassy just 2 kms. ||Staff very cordial and helpful. They have a restaurant on the terrace for dinner - Tasty food felt the portions could improve. Fast delivery & good view. ||Breakfast offered was tasty and reasonable. ||Property is in the prime location walkable to Park Street, metro & public transport and within New market ( lot of shopping with no extra effort). Most tourist places are within 3-4 kms range. ||Special thanks to Veer who guided us throughout our journey saving our time and energy.||Hotel went over and above to pack us breakfast because we were leaving early. ||Thanks for making our visit pleasant.||Best wishes|Lindsay staff & management

Mind blowing positioning. Shopping was within the close vicinity. Staff were well behaved and courteous. Excellent food and service. 9th floor roof top bar and restaurant is a must visit. The room was well equipped and Chef Amit was very helpful in customizing my dinner order. Highly recommendable.

I recently stayed (for the 2nd time) at 'The Lindsay' and had a fantastic experience. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The hotel's restaurant served delicious food, and I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the lobby bar. Overall, I highly recommend The Lindsay for a great stay. Special thanks to Veer, a staff member there.

The experience was really nice. Nice and clean room at convenient rate. The hotel's Location is also at a prime place. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend to my family and friends, specially when they are coming for vacation or business purposes.

The location is very good and it is located in the heart of the city with every tourist place nearby. The staff is also very cooperative and the hotel is neat and clean with all amenities provided without any hesitation. A beautiful and lovely place for couples, friends to spend a good time. The property also provides a good buffet breakfast.

I stayed here for two days with my family. The room was nice. The reception staff were very polite and well-behaved. Breakfast was excellent. All the things we need are available nearby, so if you stay here, you can travel very easily.
