Everything is good except the food taste.. the taste of paneer butter masala or veg polao is below average

Pure vegetarian. The food is good and the prices are budget friendly.

I found a hidden gem. Previously when near to Barabazar area I used to go to Shree Ram Dhaba for dinner. Their food was affordable and tasted nice to me, until I visited Onkar Hotel today. I was surprised to see the prices all under Rs.100 on their menu card and amazed by the quality served for that price. Although non ac but they've a very nice neat and clean dining area, you can easily visit with your family. Masala Kulcha @ Rs.35 and Paneer Butter Masala @ Rs.85 (4/5) ---------------------------------------------- Paneer Butter Masala tasted quite like good homemade curry, Masala Kulcha tasted amazing. Portion size was sufficient for one person. Considering now a days where some restaurants in Kolkata serves veg curry for Rs.350 with margarine on top in place of butter I'll say Onkar Hotel is really cheap. I also took Lassi priced only Rs.35, they're very affordable and worth every penny. Conclusion ---------------- Their food isn't extraordinary but it's way better and cheaper than other nearby veg restaurants in Barabazar area like Shree Ram Dhaba, Thakur Mahal and Rajasthan Bhojnalaya.

So many people said that it's cheap and good ..well this is subjective but still if compared with elite restaurants, yes it's cheap. The taste is good (only veg) but not value for money when one sees the quantity. I once ordered veg pulao,rice, paneer curry and aloo dum .The quantity of rice and pulao. was still considerable but the paneer quantity was too less.. and cherry on the top was aloo dum..i mean literally they charged Rs. 65 for 1 plate aloo dum , and they served me...4 smallest of the smallest piece of aloo and some curry (jhol) in a plate. The quantity of their food shocked me. Barabazar is famous for food .. there are lots of better options but not this..

If you like non-veg then it's waste of money. Low price as well a low quantity food, and taste is very bad. We order polao and it was like korean fried rice. Butter panner masala is very bad too. In one word not for non-veg lovers, specially if u are a bengali

Very good and tasty food. Quality is fine. The hospitality of the staffs is outstanding. Overall very good hotel.

Ordered Panner. The taste was not worth as per the price which was charged.
