Hotel The City of Joy

I have been to kolkata many times and stayed in many hotels but this one stood out so far. Not so much when you see it from the outside, but when you go in, you will be surprised. The rooms are very clean, well maintained and hygienic. The staffs are polite and friendly. The location is well connected. The food is amazing. It felt like a small family owned hotel who took care of all the checkboxes of expectations from a hotel: Cleanliness Behavior Hospitality Location Amenities Budget friendly Diet Choices The only thing that was missing was a lift, but can be ignored if you consider all the other options and at this budget friendly rate and the staffs are anyway there to help with your luggages, for shifting to and from the upper floors. This is definitely going to be my choice of hotel, when i visit next.

The rooms were well furnished and very clean alongwith various amenities like fridge, geyser etc. Hygiene is well maintained. The owner and staff are very cooperative and friendly. It's a worthy option at such price

Very small rooms. Not worthy of the money given. Complimentary breakfast didn't have any tea. Tea is to be bought with an extra Rs 30. Only one positive - room though small was clean.

I recently visited this hotel and was very pleased with how clean and neat everything was. The cleanliness stood out and made the stay quite comfortable. I had booked a deluxe room, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're traveling with family, as the space was quite limited. It felt too small to move around freely with more than one or two people. On the positive side, the staff provided excellent service, and the food was delicious. The hotel is located a little inside the city, in a calm and peaceful area, which I appreciated. Overall, I loved the cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere, but if you're traveling with a family, I'd suggest opting for a larger room.

Cooperative staff, squeaky clean room, great location (walking distance from VFS Global where I had a visa submission appointment), peaceful surroundings, good food. Worth every penny, highly recommended!
