Calcutta Bungalow

On a very fine evening we planned and visited Calcutta Bunglow for refreshments after a tiring lab schedule. It was summer and we tried mocktails first. Tetuler moshla sorbot, gondhoraj ghol, aam er moshla lassi- three were so refreshing. Then we tried sandwiches, cheesy chicken fritters, lonka achar fish nuggets . The tasty was really good. The ambience was too good. There are floors with different sitting arrangements. It is actually Majumdar's mansion, the heritage of old kolkata is the main attraction. The feeling of having snacks in a mansion is amazing. The service was prompt and the total experience is very pleasant. Mostly recommended.

Experience The Bungalow for a few nights! In a vibrating area with Jain Temples and just people living! Life in real Kolkata! Everything has already been said but I will repeat it! The staff genuinely caring and attentive to all your needs. The roof top restaurant, convenient, good and pleasant. The rooms with exceptional themed decoration, spacious, impeccably clean and equipped ( fridge, air con, fans etc.) the Metro is walking distance and Ubers will always be called for you on demand. Convenient to have Calcutta Walks as part of the bungalow. Not to miss, Confluence of Cultures and Bringing The Goddess to Earth walks with Tuhina.

An entirely nostalgic experience indeed. Every corner, each floor has a strong presence. We literally spent 10-15mins on each floor gazing the beauty at every space the place has. It not only ends there then they have a terrace where you feel the most peace even at daylight. The staffs members were also very kind and generous. One thing I really appreciate they let us enjoy our moment without chasing us. I would highly recommend everyone to experience this beauty where there is art, culture, history and beauty.

We 4 friends have stayed at Calcutta bunglow on our trip to Kolkata. The property is a heritage bunglow converted into a boutique hotel provided a traditional Bengali household experience. Highlight of the stay was their breakfast spread, including traditional food along with mishti. The stay is very warm and friendly. The restoration done is beautiful. Location is convenient. |It felt like home.|Hope to visit again.

This is totally a winter season place. Ideal location for any day during the winters. Food quality is very very good. Serving time is less. But, they don't have any air conditioned dinning area. The cafe is at rooftop and open air. I could have given a 4 star, which they deserve but am deducting 1 star for a reason. I went there yesterday (20th April 2025) asked them if anything can be arranged to dine-in in an air conditioned place, to which they bluntly said no. But later while moving out I found out that they have made arrangements for another group. Mind you neither us nor the other group had made any reservations. Why such byast ness?? Hence, I deduct 1 star and rate this a 3star.

We stayed 2 nights in Calcutta bungalow and it was a real treat. The building is beautifully and tastefully restored with interesting things to look at in every room. The staff are friendly and helpful and the beds really comfortable with glorious bed linen. We are breakfast and had a dinner there. The food was delicious and the roof top restaurant so pretty with fairy lights. I cannot fault the stay in anyway and would not hesitate to recommend it. We loved it.

Lovely boutique heritage hotel in the old part of Kolkata. Clean, comfortable and welcoming staff who also booked us on one of their walking tours which was excellent. The only negative would be that variety of food was limited and service friebut slow in the restaurant.

I went on a humid day to spend some quality time with school buddies. Location is good but the food wasn't up to the mark. The decor and ambience was superb giving an old kolkata vibe. Overall it was a decent experience.
