Townhouse 152 Hotel Suncitel Near Kolkata Airport

In May 2025 I made reservations at two of the hotels in the FabHotel chain near Kolkata Airport to stay there in November 2025, but was forced to cancel them due to the dishonest practices of this chain. In the Booking.com listing they clearly stated "No Prepayment Needed -- pay at the property." However, as soon as I had made the reservation -- the very next day in fact! -- I received an email from them demanding immediate payment of all or part of the fee, stating that what I had was only a 'temporary' reservation and that it could be cancelled at any time unless I paid right away. I was not unwilling, and phoned them, offering that they could charge my credit card which I had entered on the Booking.com reservation form. However, they refused, claiming that they did not to have the card details, and insisting on a bank wire instead! So, don't go near this chain of hotels despite the attractive rates! What they say in the listing contradicts the small print! Prepayment is demanded immediately otherwise they threaten to cancel. Also, even though they claim to accept Mastercard, Visa, etc., this is also evidently also a lie because they insisted it had to be a bank wire. Be careful! Read the small print!!!

Very small room. Fully closed, no ventilation. No sunshine. Lots of traffic noise. Suffocating. Mosquitoes in the room. Old cloth like smell in the room. Dont go by their uploaded pics. I got tempted by them, and I had to do 2 days early checkout because I would have to pay the doctor if I stayed there any longer .

The rooms are okay,there was water coming from the ac. Their staff at night was rude and pathetic. I told him my room wasnt locking with my luggage inside,he didnt seem to care. Though I still had to step out I wasn't at ease They charge for basic amenities like dental kit.

Room is not completely neat and clean. Bathroom commode is not at all clean. I think they provided me the room without cleaning after the checkout. Pillows and bedsheets are full of stains. Room is having so many mosquitoes.

Room very dusty and dirty bedsheets. At 3 a.m., one foreigner couple arrived with booking copy in their hand but the staff refused to provide them room, when we and their cab driver intervened then they allowed the foreigner couple to let inside the hotel. Such a pathetic staff and their service is too bad. Only positive thing is it is nearby airport.

Location is pretty accessible, there is a restaurant on the upper floor. other than that, it's mediocre. Rooms are not especially dirty per se, but not clean either. Maintenance is not good. Bedsheets are not very clean, good thing i carry my own sheets. All in all, go only if u don't have any other better option.

The only thing good about the hotel was it's location. It was close to the airport. Other than that, I could not find anything good about the hotel. The room was not good at all. They don't maintain the room. There were small cockroaches everywhere in the room including bathroom. The AC was leaking water. TV was very moody, I mean it gave sound only when it wanted and for rest of the time it operated on mute mode. In the name of glass, they provided two whiskey glasses in the room, as if people don't drink anything else than alcohol. For fooding they only serve food in your room. In the breakfast they only have two option, either bread & butter or bread omlette. I asked them to arrange a cab for airport drop. In the response they said the driver is refusing to go. Such is there service.

Worst experience in terms of hotel room experience. Dirty room, dirty beddings, insufficient toiletries, dysfunctional TV.
