Hotel Swagat

I along with my family stayed in this lodge (Room No. 19) from 19th till 21st February 2025 for some important engagements in IIT campus. The following are my observations: Cons: > Rooms are generally for two people and not for families with three heads > The position of the fan is closely suspended on top of the bed's position which makes it hard for people who can easily catch a cold or shiver with slight dip or change in temperature > TV and electric points do not work, including the fan regulator that has circuitry issues. This also led to continuous electric /voltage fluctuations due to which the TV plug points were not working. This shut off the fan as well in the last two nights. > No geyser system or exhaust fan in toilets/washroom > There's a huge mosquito issue as well > On the last day there was water shortage because of the voltage issues and zero pumping of water. > No direct food service. In-direct food service from nearby stalls/tiffin services (but the food was extremely good at reasonable rates) > The service guys have their own personally vendetta against each other or something (that we felt), and they were very lazy. Pros: > The location and peacefulness along with some green serenity > If they can fix the CONs Hotel Swagat would be the go-to choice for any individual who's visiting either IIT campus, or Railways, or hospital.

Can't give rating below 1 Star, as it is not available. Horrible experience. Waste service. They use to do all kind of unethical work in the name of Hare Krishna Hare Ram. Worst staff and worst owner and worst management. 1 Star rating with third class service. Don't believe their photos. If you want to experience hell on earth please check in

Worst hotel, I had ever seen in my life. The rooms were filthy, with dust and dirt everywhere. The beds and chairs were in terrible condition, with visible damage. There was no lock system in the bathroom. I had stayed there for 5 days. During my 5-day stay, there was no effort made to maintain or clean the rooms. The hotel manager was only interested in collecting money and even charged extra for supposed maintenance that never happened. I stayed at this hotel for 5 days and it was a nightmare. It's clear that the management does not care about their guests' comfort or hygiene. Avoid this place at all costs!

Absolutely terrible experience. Avoid this hotel at all costs. I had the absolute misfortune of staying at this hotel and it was hands down the worst experience of my life. The rooms were unbearably hot making it impossible to get any rest. Despite the scorching heat neither the coolers nor the fans worked leaving us to suffer through the night. To make matters worse the rooms were filthy beyond belief. Dirt and grime were everywhere and the bathrooms were disgusting and hadn't been cleaned in ages. The beds were broken and uncomfortable adding to the overall misery. The bathroom doors don't have locks which is of grave inconvenience. When I asked the hotel owner to have someone clean the room he downright asked for the room keys and said that the rooms could be cleaned only when I give him the keys to my room and leave. Matter of fact, I had all my important and valuable stuff in my room so it wasn't possible for me to give them the keys and so the rooms stayed filthy. There isn't a continuous supply of water. Especially during the morning and noon there is a lack of water supply. The hotel does not provide any provision for food. The hotel provides a small tub of water for drinking, but the water was clearly contaminated and unsafe to drink. The hotel owner is a scam artist. He keeps adding extra charges without informing the tenants beforehand. I was definitely cheated by this owner and was additionally charged a hefty sum of money on top of the actual 775 a day. Stay far, far away from this disgraceful establishment. It is a health hazard and a scam rolled into one.

Very bad service. They didn't even provide a soap or a dish. There was intolerable amount of mosquitos in the room.

Horrible experience at this hotel, just returned yesterday. I stayed at this hotel with my friends to attend a course at IIT kgp. The staff members are rude and uncooperative and the rooms are really bad. My room was far from what I expected: it was dirty, the bed linens were stained, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned. To make matters worse, some of the bathrooms had no locks and no hangers, which was highly inconvenient. To top it all off, I was hit with hidden charges at check-out that were not mentioned beforehand, making the stay even more unpleasant and costly. Their behaviour and services forced me to reallocate for a single day while charging the full amount. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly not be returning.

The worst rooms i have ever seen, insects in the bathroom (cockroach and frogs), not at all clean rooms, very unhygienic, only one person to maintain and he is not at all cooperative, switches were not working, bedsheet was not at all clean, you have to make advance payment and continuously asking for advance payment. My suggestion is never stay in this shitty hotel

Worst Hotel in Kharagpur Rooms remained uncleaned for decades I guess.Rooms are small and it becomes boiler during summer. Terrible service and the staffs are rude. The level of service and quality provided,the hotel was outrageously overpriced.We are also hit with several extra charges that were never mentioned before. These hidden fees were completely unjustified and when we questioned about the charges, the hotel manager was dismissive and uncooperative. We have a nightmare experience in this hotel. Avoid this hotel at any cost
