Shikher Guest House

One of the best hotels in kalimpong. Very good staff and well maintained property accompanied by three lovely dogs. Food was also fresh and good. One thing that needs to be looked into is that the towels were too old and needed a change. There is also a children park adjacent to this hotel.

Shikher is a lovely place to stay at if you are visiting Kalimpong. Cosy rooms ans excellent staff. They are very friendly and helpful. Food is of excellent quality and tastes great.

The property is located just above the town kalimpong, by walk 35 to 40 mins , by car just 10 mins . The property is well looked after , full greenery and serene .Staff members too good specially Dawa the champ ...who made our stay worth. Food is good , cleanliness too, inclusive breakfast items need to be added I guess .If u want peace and quiet this is the spot.|Would recommend

We could experience the amazing view of Kanchenjunga range from our bedroom. The breakfast was great. The staffs are very helpful. The room and the balcony were clean and spacious. The garden is too good to enjoy in a sunny morning. The location is on a hill and a bit far from the main market area of Kalimpong; they happily arranged taxis for us whenever required. The only improvement; a tea/coffee making facility in the room would have been great; otherwise the electric kettle has a very limited use.

Located at uphill, around 2km away from Kalimpong bus/taxi stand. We stayed in a standard room 150sq ft approx. It is a very small room, no wardrobe, only a table cum drawer is there to put your things. Bed is very small and sleeping with a kid would be difficult. No mountain view, only garden view available. During evening time, the room became full of insects coming from surrounding trees and garden. There is no night lamp. Wifi speed is too slow(2G better than that). There is a small TV and electric kettle. Main thing I didn't like is their food. It is too costly and tasteless and there is no nearby restaurants. So you have to depends on their food atleast for dinner. For sightseeing they will arrange driver and charge is too much and you don't have other options to book other car.

It feels like you're living as a house guest of a well-heeled local. And you actually are. Dhiraj Gurung has a well maintained sprawling property where he also lives with family in one part of the house. The rooms at the back, especially room 28 upwards have very good views of the Kanchanzangha range. On a clear day, you can sit out at the balcony and look out forever. The service is very efficient, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. They make a killer cappuccino. On my first evening, I needed to go to town, but I had no vehicle. No cab could be arranged either. Dhiraj dropped us off and picked us up again after dinner, in an hour andahalf. Completely gratis. Such hosts are difficult to find. Five stars on all counts!!
