Pokhrel Lodge

Room is specious also bathroom is neat and clean, market view from balcony. One wardrobe is there for clothes. Staffs are very humble and cooperative. Worthy stay. We stayed for three day. Hotel owner is also very kind person. Tv was not in working condition. Lift was not there so difficult for elderly person. Overall good experience.

Pokhrel lodge is in the center of town. The communication with the place before our arrival was very good. The staff was kind and helpful. Nevertheless, this place is noisy (because of its central location) and not very clean. The floors and bathroom were OK clean, but the bed mattress, bed sheets, bed blankets, pillows and pillow covers were disgusting and heavily stained. I have rarely seen such brown-black pillows and mattresses. The paint is peeling off most walls and some paint has simply been added to mold-infested walls. After one night, we decided to change locations. For the same price, we found better value 5 minutes away.

Rooms need to be maintained properly. Bathroom window pane broken. Walls of the room damp. No ceiling fan. Rug cover and pillow cover not clean. Wash basin faucet not discharging hot water. Staff were very polite and very helpful. Location at the bus stand. Hotel located at 3rd floor and no lift. Suitable for solo travelers.

We stayed here in April 2015. Family of four including 2 children. Bit tricky to find on the ? 3rd floor but worth the effort. Modern clean room, good WiFi for small fee. Great views from roof. Restaurant on ground floor run by brother of hotel manager - great soup with herbs, veges.

Pokhrel Lodge is very centrally situated, conveniently near to the main bazaar, and is set on the 4th floor of a small, modern, shopping complex. ||The rooms are basic but very clean, with a good bathroom with hot water and working shower (not always the case in some hotels!). There is TV, (and in theory, free wifi, although even when working, the download speed is atrocious, although this seems to be equally true of all landline internet access in Kalimpong, at present, and is not the fault of the hotel!) ||The staff are friendly and helpful, and the room rates very reasonable, with some negotiations possible. There is a good Chinese restaurant very conveniently placed down on the first floor. ||I enjoyed our stay and will certainly stay there again on my next visit to Kalimpong.

Excellent hotel and excellent staff. Well maintained rooms and 24hrs hot water available. Though rooms are little small but that doesn't create any big problem for visitor I think. Located near heart of city. Kalimpong police station and football stadium is located very near . Different type of shops are just downwards to the hotel. Hotel located in 2nd floor and without lift so there is problem .

Stay wasnt pleasant because of the service provided. Geyser was there but no warm water. We were told we would be given complimentary tea but then at the time of billing they charged for it. Even the room tarrif was changed at the time of billing. They had charged more than the rate of the room. The only good thing about the lodge was the location.

Very bad experience.Rooms, toilet are not cleaned.Beds were harder than bricks.Couldn't sleep through out night, check out one day before.Have no dining, can't view the nature from balcony. Being among the market place,it is quite noisy too.
