Hotel Orchid

The location of this hotel is really helpful for tourists... Being located just few minutes walking distance from the main market, bus stand, taxi stand, it's easily accessible... One can view the Kanchenjunga from the balcony on clear days...

If you want a room with a view, this hotel is perfect. The owners' family live in the same building, it's a hotel and homestay ( as my wife said ). Very clean and only two minutes walking distance from the Dumber Chowk. From the west facing balcony we got a bird eye view of the town and in the evening it looked like thousand fireflies were on the mountain.

We stayed in Hotel Orchid in our one day visit in Kalimpong. The view from the hotel room is wonderful. What I really like was the behaviour of the stuff. Everyone was very soft spoken. The food quality of the Hotel is also delicious.

The hotel is very well located with excellent view from the room. Room cleaning needs to improve.Hospitality is Ok.Food was good but spicy.They prepared khichdi for our child on the day of Check out.That was really helpful.

Hotel Orchid is a short distance down from Damber Chowk, a central intersection on Kalimpong's Main Road. The staff are welcoming. The rooms are clean. The rates are reasonable. It's the first hotel we come to when we visit Kalimpong.

Service is excellent. Food is average. Room cleanliness is also very good. Rooms are big and spacious but the design of balcony is not good. Does not seem to me like a 3 star at all. Both the reception guy and guy in the kitchen were very good and polite, well behaved. That is why I am sharing a positive review. I stayed at a room 201, the room was good, it also had amazing view of the mountains but the design of balcony was a big no no. Shared images why I say this, the balcony of the other room 202 was not separated well with 201 room. In case you are looking for some privacy do not choose rooms 201 and 202. Also about the location, the road is very narrow so a little difficult for car parking and taking out the car to the main road.

Location is just 2 or 3 min walking distance from main road, Dambar Chawk. Very neat and clean room & bathroom at very reasonable rate. Mountain view is available from some of the rooms & rooftop. Also there is a free wi-fi service. Recommended for short stay.
