Himalaya Eagle Resort

Last month (23-25 January,2025) we went to Chibbo, a beautiful village near Kalimpong, for a short holiday break. It's a small homestay with7 cottages. The cottages faced the Mountains and Kanchanjunga can be viewed from all the cottages. The rooms are simple but very clean. The washrooms were very clean and the fittings were all modern. Happy to find a geyser. The view from the balcony was amazing. It was so fascinating, that any nature lover can spend just hours sitting in the balcony looking at the mountains. It's really an amazing place. Madam Susanne, the owner, is managing the property very professionally. They have thier own vehicle which she uses for pickups and tours. I must tell you this homestay is quite different from the typical ones

We went to Chibbo in Jan 2025 and stayed at Himalayan Eagle Homestsy. In one sentence- We enjoyed our stay at the homestay. The cottage style rooms were very cosy, clean and maintained. We really enjoyed the warm hospitality of Sussane the owner of the homestay. The property though a homestay is well built and really very well maintained. The food was good and very tasty. We did not go anywhere. Just stayed at the property and enjoyed the amazing views the mountains from our cottage. I personally recommend you to visit Chibbo and stay at Himalayan Eagle Homestsy

Great place to stay. Lovely quite village. We enjoyed the walk to the view point and the evening bonfire time. Food was amazing.

The homestay is really clean and well maintained with spacious rooms. The hosts are extremely hospitable and the food is really good. We had ordered Barbeque chicken and pork and it was wonderful. The view is breathtaking from the rooms and it is a must visit for anyone who wants to stay amidst the mountains, away from the hustle and bustle of the major tourist attraction spots. All the tourist attraction spots, however, are at a distance of an hour by car, at the most. So it is the best of both worlds.

Title: Horrible Experience at Himalayan Eagle Resort Location: Kalimpong ________________________________________ I recently booked at the Himalayan Eagle Resort in Kalimpong, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Here are the reasons why: 1. Unprofessional Behavior: The staff's behaviour was terrible. They were rude, unhelpful, and downright arrogant. As a guest, I expected better treatment. 2. Address Confusion: The resort's address was not clearly marked, and despite having an advance booking, we struggled to find it. The lack of proper signage or assistance added unnecessary stress to our stay. We had booked a two-day stay, but upon arrival, we were told to leave immediately. The owner's attitude was shocking--threatening physical harm if we didn't comply. This is unacceptable behaviour for any establishment. 3. Lack of Hospitality: The overall service was subpar. We felt unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout our stay. It's disappointing when a resort fails to prioritize guest satisfaction. 4. Complaint Filed: We lodged a complaint with the police station in Kalimpong to address the threatening behavior. No guest should face such mistreatment. ________________________________________ Recommendation: I strongly advise against choosing the Himalayan Eagle Resort. There are better options available in Kalimpong that prioritize guest comfort and safety.

Himalayan Eagle at Chibbo - Beautiful is an Understatement Me with my husband again went to Chibbo in January 2023 and stayed at Himalayan Eagle Homestay. This is my second visit. In one sentence - We once again enjoyed our stay at the homestay. The cottage style rooms were very cozy, clean and maintained. The washroom is always my major concern. Thankfully, it was still that very good. We really enjoyed the warm hospitality of Susanne the owner of the homestay. She is still that charming lady whom we meet few years back also here. The property though a homestay is so well built and equally well maintained, that we kept thinking how it's possible for Susanne to keep it so good. The food was really good and very tasty. We did not go anywhere. Just stayed at the property and enjoyed the amazing views of the mountains and specially Mt.Kanchanjangha from the cottage. I personally recommend you to visit Chibbo and stay at Himalayan Eagle Homestay
