Rio de Vallis Eco Resort - Best Resort Home Stay in Kalimpong

Very nice and cozy homestay at the bank of beautiful river , surrounded by lush green hills, the staffs are good , co operative, and the food is also tasty , and the main attraction is the Bar b q , rooms are clean , maintenance is good , our family enjoyed a lot at this stay

Rooms are clean and comfortable. But food quality is very poor, worst experience, Staffs are not well trained,they don't know how to serve food, food taste was also very bad.

Staffs are not cooperative at all, at per price service is worst, food source is really limited. In a word after 8 succesfull trip in Darjeeling i book the worst homestay ever

This resort is in deep with wonderful surroundings. Paragliding landing is near by. There is a river passing nearby. Morning and evening beautiful scenery. Fire camp is available.. Food is little bit not OK.. But for the location worth it... Having 2 dog which won't bite. Good place to chill with friends and family..

1st of all service was very poor like they don't care about customer support like if you want water then you get it after 1hours... Room are big it's true but bathroom are not good enough flushing not working and door not be locked properly The food is avg.... In brief the hotel is nothing special except location

The location is good. But the last 500 meters are kind of off road. Rooms are not properly clean. The toilet seat in the bathroom was broken. We booked a suite and a cottage. Unfortunately there's power back up for longer run. The day we visited, there was no power. They ran the inverter for an hour. But, in that suite room there's only one plug point which is connected to the inverter. You can only connect one wall hanged fan to that. You can't stay inside the suite room with that arrangement as the outside temperature more than 30degc. Food quality is below average. We have stayed in other Homestays and we are well aware of food quality. But here the food quality is pathetic. As there was no power the entire day, we had to checkout and move to Kalimpong main city around 9pm at night. I won't suggest anyone to visit. Considering the location, 3 things I would suggest to improve as you are calling your property a RETREAT. Food quality Power back 100%. Cleanliness ( staff themselves are throwing garbage/waste food here and there like lawn and other places). Only good thing is behaviour of manager (Roland). He tried best within his capabilities to resolve our issues. Negligence of the property owner will ruin this property completely in a year or two.

We recently stayed in the this property and had a good experience. The breathtaking scenery, combined with the serene atmosphere, made for a truly relaxing getaway. It is in middle of a valley, so surroundings are calm and peaceful. accommodations were good, with clean and comfortable rooms offering stunning views. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor views , there's a river flowing in 100 meters from the gate., we enjoyed the calmness there in the morning.,

If I had an option I would have rated it a big ZERO. The only saving grace is the river otherwise the property is in a complete mess, very poorly managed.Very dirty bed sheets and pillow, broken toilet seats, service very slow and very bad, overall in a state similar to a refugee camp. Jut not recommend for families, only self contained adventure enthusiasts may sustain the pain of staying there.
