Shakuntala Village Resort

We really liked "Shakuntala Resort". Everything was fine, but one thing that surprised us on the last day was that before we checked out, the working staff came to our room, took everyone's mobile phones, and themselves searched for "Shakuntala Resort" on Google to give a 5-star and positive review. This didn't seem right to us. Personal opinions should be given by the guests themselves, and the staff shouldn't do something like this. Overall, the experience was good. The water in the swimming pool was not clear. The staff behavior was quite nice.

Nestled in the heart of the serene Sonajhuri forest, this property offers a peaceful retreat amidst nature. I booked a suite for a day, and the experience was quite pleasant. The room was spacious, neat, and well-maintained, equipped with essential amenities such as a geyser, hair dryer, electric kettle, fresh towels, and complimentary tea/coffee sachets. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. However, the only drawback was the food. Both the quality and quantity left much to be desired, especially considering the price. There is significant room for improvement in this aspect. Overall, it's a great place to unwind and enjoy the tranquility of nature, but the dining experience could be better. A solid 4-star stay!

Very bad service at restaurant. They are selling coupons for food without knowing the actual capacity of the restaurant. We took 2 tickets and went upstairs for taking food. Surprisingly, there was no place for sitting and at least 20-25 people were standing, waiting for taking a seat. After waiting 10-15 mins, we came down and returned the ticket. Tips- 1. Don't take coupons without knowing the waiting period 2. Roshnai restaurant, beside Shakuntala, is also very good but less crowded. Food quality is very good.

Rooms n bathrooms are in pathetic condition. They don't maintain the property at all. Only the location is at sonjhuri haat thats it, otherwise nothing good about it . No cleanliness , smelly room , bed sheets are dirty , washrooms are flooding due to pipe leakages n they are charging 4500 tariff per room per night for this service. Their food and "complimentary breakfast " so they call it is aweful. Worst stay ever.

We booked mud house last week, they have given out room to someone else and offered us a room in ground floor with broken doors, shabby room and dirty clothes which was not worth of staying.we requested them to give other room they refused. At around 8 pm we have to arrange rooms in other hotel with a 5 year old kid with us and we finally stayed in Titli resort with very high rate at last moment. Sakuntala resort is a fraud, very unprofessional and very bad. U would not recommend anyone to go and suffer like us. They have not refunded. Third class rooms and service!!!

Location is best if you want to stay near Sonajhuri Haat. They arranged for a good cultural evening on the occasion of Basanta Utsav. However there was issues in toilet which we have informed and then was fixed. Also sometimes the toilet smell was coming in room as there was no window in the toilet. Service was mostly fine but due to holiday and weekend, they have not served lunch in rooms and there was no special privilege to have lunch for residents staying in the hotel. We had to stand in queue along with others coming from outside to have lunch. One more issue is the communication gap among the service persons and receptionist. Although we informed at the reception that we will check out late and will pay the extra amount, there was a hotel person knocking at our room to inform that we have to pay extra if we are not leaving the room much before the specified time. Requesting management to think about resolving this issue.

I wish I could give half a star. This hotel is the most pathetic place to stay in Shantiniketan. We booked a suite for our family trip, and it was full of dirt, spider webs, etc. The washroom is tiny -there's not enough space for even one person. Their wifi was not working, and they were reluctant to pay back our money when we decided to move to the Cristallo resort for the next day. They will charge you 4,500/night but will allow only 1 egg per plate during the buffet. Also, the breakfast buffet was pathetic. They served dry poha, pasta, half cooked poori sabzi, and an egg. And the tea was of really low quality. Save your money. Skip this place.

We did not stay here but walked in at the restaurant on 8th March at 3 pm, after much struggle and paying in advance for a meal of 15 people, the food was below par ! Display food KATLA KALIA & was served macher jhol , while asked them , informed that I should take this up with the downstairs booking team ! Pls be transparent & give clear indications for the price you charged & food that was served, felt cheated at this incident & hope this was a standalone incident to us, who wanted to celebrate Women's Day with our family
