Placed over several acres of land filled with Sal, Mahua trees, the resort is a peace haven. The rooms in the main building are not extraordinary, but you will not complain. There are tents set up one side of the land amidst the trees. The place becomes almost fairytale like at night, when the string lights are lit all along the paths. The food is basic yet tasty. On a negative note, found the price a little too steep, especially for the food. However do ask for the barbecue. It was one of the bests I have ever tasted. As for service, I had no complaints since they were available and helpful all the time. Excellent behaviour from the staffs.

Last Month, after nearly one year of suffocating seclusion owing to Corona, our entire family decided to unshackle and move to Salboni Retreat in our own cars.||||One can set the place on GPs and nevigate. The road is smooth and wide (National Highway), barring half a mile strech near Kharagpur . From Kolkata the journey would take about three and half hours by car.||||The resort is located inside a huge forest, frequented by elephants and other smaller animals. Try to stay in their heritage block called Durgabari, like we did. ||||Till last December the place was owned by Dasgupta family who purchased the property from British owners. Now they have given the huge property to a private party on a long term lease. ||||Rooms are not small but restromms are really small and not well maintained , unlike the rooms. Food is served in a seperate two storey building, barring tea/coffee/evening snacks - which are served in the rooms. ||||One cons : the four rooms that we booked werte not air conditioned and in the scorching heat of the that arid area one will not survive without AC in summers or early monsoon.||||Food is simple Bengali food with every ingradient fresh. Taste of dishes were mediocre but passable. In the room rent breakfast and dinner are included (MAP).||||The erstwhile owners had great taste and the resort is very asthetically designed. I had many friends visiting the place beforehand and all spoke onlt good about the place.||||Non availability of AC and restrooms being very small and not properly maintained are definite cons but the most critical cons were the prohibitively exorbitant prices of food, mineral water, hot drinks etc.to give an example, a simple cup of tea is priced at Rs. 60/-. Any thing brought from outside are sold at a premium, much above MRP. ||||The new management do not accept Cards though $G connection is excellant . By the way, there is no wi fi, which is very inconvenient in these days of work from home or whereever you are. To add to the woos, we could not find any single working ATM at neartby Jhargram town. We were in a thick soup since we were carrying all sorts of cards, internet banking, wallets etc. but nothing worked. ||||The staff are very courteous but have no kn owledge about the surrounding. The area has rich heritage, palaces, old temples Dams, waterfalls, hills to trek with fantastic scenery whereever we went. Though their werbsite talks about all places of tourist attractions - they staff, knew nothing of nothing. It was a fun discovering every place of interest ourselves.||||Last cons : They do not give pucca bill for any thing, only handwritten bills on white papers and in the process the Country is loosing GST etc.
The rooms are in worst condition. I recently visited the place and took three rooms and it was a very unpleasant one. No water in the washroom, the geysers doesn't work. the washroom is very dirty. It is very expensive and charges for every extra mere things that cost cheap otherwise. The room tariffs are very high and won't meet your expectation. I have almost spent 40k for two days stay, thinking the service and the place would be excellent but it turned out to be a nightmare. Very poorly furnished. I won't recommend any one to visit here. Instead of spending money here, spend it in some 5-stars hotel, which could be easily affordable at this rate. Prices are not justified. Trying to make extra money with every small request.
A peaceful getaway from the chaotic city life. It's a nature lover's paradise and a perfect gastronomic treat for the foodie in search of homemade food away from home. The hosts are a combination of grace, courtesy, simplicity, care and concern. The warm welcome received is very rare to be found in this modern world. The pure and fresh air, the chirping of birds, the swaying trees, the long walks among the trees, the cool breeze, the smell of wet earth, the rays of the sun finding their way through the leaves...the whole experience is mesmerizing. It's a perfect place to spend the weekend and rejuvenate the mind and body to face the world. The main USP of the place is warm hospitality, awesome food, mesmerizing nature and a home away from home.
Good ambience, forest feel, friendly owners. Pro: Location Food Ambience Con: Overly priced Basic rooms Geyser switches outside room, needs to be found out Kettle and tea/coffee kits absent in room Poor quality blankets Toilteries not up to the mark
Nice place to stay. You can go with your family or friends, but trust me, this place won't fail to impress you in all ways. The foods, the environment, the morning walks through the forest would definitely give u a different charm altogether.

Firstly, just 3.5 hrs journey from kolkata. Wonderful approach way to the heritage Durga Bari with shaal trees on two sides. Had a lovely time with very friendly staff and well furnished and clean rooms. Spent 2 days in the African like tents with cozy interiors. Food is very much home like with prompt service by ever smiling service staff. Overall, a wondeful experience and worth the money.
