Malang I lodge

This is a forest lodge which you can book online through the West Bengal Forest Development Corporation website. Located in Hashimara, the lodge is located on the edge of the forest. The rooms are reasonably good and are equipped with AC. Food at the restaurant is very tasty. However, do keep in mind the fact that there is no bar or electric kettle in the room. The staff are courteous and well behaved. Car parking is available. This is a convenient location for the Chilapata safari. Nice experience

Malangi lodge located 4 km from Hadimara railway station. The dense jungle and the lodge separated by a brick wall. In night or early morning wild animals like elephant, byson or deers comes near the wall and deers can be seen within the garden of the lodge. Chilapata-Mendabari forest is very near to the lodge. Jeep safari or elephant ride can be arranged from the lodge.Chilapata forest is very dense among all forests of doors and different trees including rare "Ramgua" can be found. The reminiscent of Nal dynasty can be found here. The breath taking path through Kodalbasti jungle is a part of this scenetilating tour. Any time one can see the movement of wild animals. Always prefer the 1st or 4th tour. The lodge has good rooms on 1st floor. Rooms are well maintained, washroom clean and have a working geyser.Always prefer 1st floor rooms for view and safety. You can go to a wooden bridge on malangi river through a small gate of the lodge to take photos but don't cross the bridge for security reason as wild animals can comes out from the forest any time. The breakfast is complimentary in the lodge.Foods are tasty and good quality and value for the money. Staffs are polite, suave and helpful. I recommend two nights stay here for enjoying the serenity and beauty of the forest.

What makes Malangi Forest Lodge a worth visiting destination is its warm-hearted staff and its proximity to Torsa river. Infra-wise, the forest lodge is just above average. However, what they lose in infrastructure, they more than make up for in theur alacrity to delight the customers. ||We were a group that was not visiting just the Malangi lodge for the first time, but also the North Bengal dooars for the first time. Despite our handicap at not speaking fluent Bangla, the staff made sure that we will feel welcome. The cheff is very friendly and will give you live demo of how they are making the delectable delicacies. ||The proximity of the lodge to Torsa river makes sure that if fortune favours, you will see rhinos and baisons and other wildlife right behind your lodge. The staff will make sure that you don't miss clicking pictures of these game should they chose|to venture near the lodge. ||Do visit once. Rooms on the first floor offer slightly better view.

We stayed 2 nights here. It's pleasant to stay and relax here. If you want to feel jungle, then you must stay at 'jayanti' room, you can see dense forest and hear birds chirping from adjoining baranda. Staffs are well behaved. Overall good experience. It was full moon, so we also enjoyed moon flooded jungle.

Initially we were a bit sceptical about choosing this accommodation. But after spending couple of day I can surely say this is the best forest lodge after Holllong. So if you don't get a booking at Hollong go for this one.||The lodge arranges elephant safari in Jaldapara National park..and also keep safari at Local Basti range at Chilapata forest.||Food is homely and staffs are very helpful. It is a beautiful lodge, all staffs are friendly. Room and toilet is clean and well decorated. Food quality is good. So it fit for weak end tour for family.Elephant surgery is very good. I stayed here before going to Bhutan.

We 6 stayed there for a day . it was my first experience in a jungle. The rooms were well maintained, staffs were good , food was also good but the problem was, we all suffered from food poisoning , this was starnge and couldn't find out why! But overall experience was superb. I would recommend everyone to stay here and enjoy the beauty of a forest , but remember while you will be having a meal just be careful .

Very good property and building . Located in fringe area of Jaldapara/ Chilapota forest , Kodal Basti Range. Well maintained suites and very cordial support staff . Food is excellent . Bookings for elephant rides and jeep safari well manged by the lodge support staff .
