Anahita The River Retreat

We had such a great time at Anahita The River Retreat that our stay, originally intended to be 3 days, turned out to be 7 days! We stayed in a bungalow and had a very clean, large and comfortable room with a beautiful terrace overlooking the fields. Staying with Daisy (the owner) and her team makes you feel like you're staying with a family who do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Not to mention the incredible Bengali cuisine prepared by Daisy herself - a real feast! Definitely a place I'd recommend and I really hope I will have a chance to go back in a near future :)

An excellent property for vacation. From the moment we arrived at the Anahita River Retreat, we were treated to an experience that was nothing short of exceptional. The grandeur of the resort combined with its serene location made our stay memorable, but it was the impeccable service, especially by hostess Daisy and her team, that truly set our experience apart. The rooms were clean and hygienic and the food was awesome. Overall a memorable experience.

Our stay there was amazing for many reasons: 1. The space is beautifully designed, impeccably clean and a delight to be in. 2. The food--i can write paragraphs on how delicious the meals are. 3. The hostess and the staff go way way beyond the call of duty to make the stay comfortable and pleasurable. 4. The hotel is extremely helpful in making bookings for boats, totos and anything else one can mention. 5. There are many dogs (if you don't like dogs, don't worry, they don't impinge on public spaces). 6. Did we mention the food?

This resort is on the other side of the island and far from Gosaba. However, the solitude of the place and quietness is really worth staying here. The host Mrs. Daisy is a wonderful person and her pets are lovely to interact with. The manager is quite informative.

Property is really nice and the staffs were helpful. there are few problems which needs to be improved. They don't have personal jetty so you have to walk ( walking is the only option) atleast 10mins from the nearest proper jetty.The hotel jetty was broken when we visited in Mar 2025. They have AC in all the rooms however it doesn't work properly due to low voltage and the ROOMS are connected( family room type- a door is there in between the rooms).Pls note they have generator as well but I think it only connected to the light and fans. There were lots of lizard and other insects in the rooms. I didn't booked the hotel directly so was not having food from the hotel.Our Tour operator Sanjay is nice a person but he didn't mentioned all the issues before taking out booking. The owner of the hotel is doing lots of charities for the improvements of the local people.Kudos to her.

*Anahita the River Retreat* - Must say it's a Perfect Gateway!! My stay was absolutely perfect with the warm hospitality and impeccable service by hostess Daisy and her team. The resort itself is stunning--beautifully maintained. The dining experience exceeded our expectations with wide variety of sumptuous food. If you're looking for a place to unwind and be pampered, Anahita the River Retreat is the perfect choice. We can't wait to come back for another stay! Big Shout out to the entire team !!

Had a very pleasant stay at the resort over the Xmas weekend. Food and service were exceptional. All the arrangements made by Daisy madam and her team for our trip, including sightseeing were good.

This was my second visit to the retreat and somehow this turned out to be even better than the first visit. Daisy, our host, has nailed all parts of the stay and experience, down to a T. Highly recommended if you're looking for a quiet reprieve away from the city. I will visit again.
