Perfect Weekend Getaway by the Hooghly River! We visited this resort last Saturday for an overnight trip with a group of five friends and cousins and had a lovely experience. The view of the Hooghly River is serene and adds to the charm of the place. The pool and lawn areas were clean, well-kept, and ideal for relaxing. Special appreciation for the service staff - very polite and attentive throughout. The room rates are offered with CP plan, which was budget-friendly, and the complimentary breakfast spread was quite good. The in-house dining was found to have priced on the higher side. Overall, a great one-day getaway spot. Peaceful, scenic, and worth a visit. Would recommend and likely visit again!

This is a riverfront resort in Diamond Harbour. The location is good, the space is huge with 2 restaurants (one rooftop bar & dining space which is perfect for dinner purposes). There is enough car parking space, 2 swimming pools, though it would've been better if they maintained and cleaned the pools regularly. We had to request at the reception desk not once but more than twice to clean the pools before going for a swim. Otherwise, the breakfast menu is vast, with lots of options. The rooms were practically manageable. But the resort wasn't exactly clean as we had expected. It was great for a one day trip to experience fresh, cool river breeze.

Service was very timely. Food quality at restaurant is delicious and good. Biryani was great. Only thing I gave one star less for is boiled potato costing Rs.150. I think they could be a bit judicious regarding the pricing of certain things. Rooms facing river were great. Swimming pool experience was awesome. Please improve your WiFi, the speed is pathetic.

This was a trip with friends, resort have a good sized open space. The pool is also there, the good part is that they can heat the pool. Situated on the side of the river, evening time can be very pleasant.

We went there for a day out on 1st January and had a great experience. We were also given a room along with the package which was an added bonus. The best part was the food, starting with the breakfast, and then lunch followed by evening snacks, everything satiated our taste buds. Every item was too delicious and we loved their spread. We also booked a river cruise in the afternoon which was another amazing experience at this resort. The best so far! Whoever is planning a stay at Punyalakshmi, go ahead without a second thought.

We just came back yesterday; it was an overnight trip with a friend. 1. The view of the Hooghly River is serene and adds to the charm of the place. 2. The lawn areas were clean, well-kept, and ideal for relaxing. 3. The poolside didn't have any lights; it was all dark and wasn't well maintained. 4. The standard AC DBL rooms were a bit small according to its tariff, which was Rs.2465 (including GST); a bit overpriced for the quality provided. 5. The room lacked basic amenities. 6. The food was overpriced, and they need to be a bit careful while they cook; they should wear hair caps. 7. For lunch, I ordered steamed rice with doi katla and chicken kosha, but they served us two plates of chicken kosha. When we told them that we had ordered doi katla, they replaced it but took too long, which forced us to cancel the order for doi katla. 8. I asked for ice and hot water at the same time at night for drinks. They served us the hot water but not the ice. When I asked room service, they told us that ice wasn't available. My question is, why didn't they take the initiative to let us know about that? Overall Experience: 3/5

The service and food were excellent ,the sprawling lawn ,the view of the Ganga from one of the rooms,a decent children's play area deserve mention. But there are a lot of negative points.First,the room we opted for after seeing the website did not match with the descriptions.We were told there are six rooms of the same category and three of them have balconies and are bigger.This is not mentioned in the website. The wifi was not working in the area we got the rooms and the television sets did not function at all.The fridge in one of the rooms was dripping inside.This is not expected in such a famous resort.

We went there for lunch which was a part of our sudden weekend trip to diamond harbour. We ordered crispy fried fish, chicken biryani and shahi chicken. The crispy fish was so delicious and that was the only good thing. Other things were bland and maybe stale and old stock. The ambience of the rooftop restaurant is amazing.
