Udaan Hotels | Nirvana Resort, Darjeeling

Excellent hospitality by the entire team of Nirvana. Great view of snow capped mountains from the lawn of the hotel (if weather is clear). Neat and clean property. Old aged people may find it difficult to walk up to the mall from the hotel (its an upward climb), but the hotel provides wheel chair assistance, so not much of a problem. The restaurant is completely vegetarian, and serves decent food. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The fact that the hotel is 100% vegetarian was a big plus, and they even served authentic Jain food on request. The hospitality was warm and welcoming throughout. The rooms were spotless, and the views from our window were simply breathtaking. Highly recommended for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

The worst part of this place is its location. You are dropped almost a KM away on a mountain road with the road leading to the place broken. The staff just drags your luggage on the broken road and causes damage. The rooms are pathetic with no good enough heating available. The pictures posted is all it has, though no one uses the areas. The staff has no clue what is to be done and is sometimes rude. The food is ok, though it just takes forever to arrive at your table. Overall pretty poor hotel. There are better options like Ramada.

Hotel location is bit steep have to walk around 700-800m from Chowrasta. People with walking trouble might not feel comfortable walking in steep road. We booked cottage room with lawn view, but didn't get the best out of it!! View was of kind of dumped plants and sack bags(in photo), we were very disappointed with room ..not upto the mark of 4 star hotel Pillows had stains, shower broken, water leaking from wash basin, flooring and room seems to be badly maintained, even the lock of door was broken!! We asked the receptionist to change our room with better view and we were even ready to pay to upgrade but unfortunately there were no rooms left!!. Every time we have to tell them to clean the room, even after placing clean my room card it would be same in the evening as we would leave in the morning. Only good thing about this hotel is that they serve good and fresh veg food.

I stayed in the premium valley view room with lawn. There are many things great about this facility 1. The view from the lawn and balcony is great 2. The food at Grains restaurant is pure vegetarian and amazingly tasty and hygienic. The breakfast has lots of choices including some local, north indian and south indian items 3. The mall and chowrasta are 250 meters from this hotel which is extremely convinient 4. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, all accessories including towels are hygienic and fresh 5. The staff is extremely cooperative and service minded, always smiling and helpful However there are some irritants also 1. No vehicles are allowed near the hotel. Your luggage has to be dropped and picked from bhanu bhawan, which is almost 800 meters away from hotel. The hotel staff will help with carrying the luggage. 2. While the mall road is near and accessible, the climb can be challenging for aged people 3. Hotel does not have a lift which can be a challenge to aged people. You need to book rooms at reception level if you don't want to use stairs 4. The price premium on this property is primarily due to its location, I personally did not find it worth the price. 5. The small and narrow road between mall road and hotel is not maintained at all. It has potholes, garbage, lack of lighting and other yuck things typical of west bengal roads. Overall I really loved the location, food and service. However given the price premium and drawbacks listed, I would rather book in some other 4 star hotels which provide better facilities.

Wow ! What a privileged location, we spent a couple of days in the hotel with a bigger group in December 23. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the restaurant team lovely. We also booked a fireplace evening one night in the garden and it was really nice. The views from the rooms with mountain views are breathtaking. We are already looking forward to coming back !

The place is awesome. Eye soothing mainly and cozy kinda. I recommend this hotel for all the young age peoples and the people who are healthy enough to walk down the lane and upstairs as smooth as he/she can. This place is not for the older people who are unable to walk properly as car will drop you a certain point, after that the hotel staff will help you to carry your luggage and you have to walk.It will take 6 to 10 minutes to reach mall road from the hotel. Best part of the hotel is - the lawn view. We booked a room with private balcony. The hotel's food is really good. Value for the money as well. Staffs are really very polite and co-operative. Hi , I want to share my recent experience with Udaan the property is located at a very good place and is scenic - the staff is very nice and cooperative as well they actually make you feel like home . Only thing I didnt like was the room which we were p on the ground floor room 102 which was having own garden in the front - the room was actually smelling of drainage which was the bigger turn off - the drainage pipe was right next to the entrance of the garden room , the smell was very disgusting and was spreading across the entire room.
