I had the pleasure of staying at The Guiding Monk in Darjeeling for two days, and I must say, it was one of the finest stays I've ever had. This place has everything you could ask for in a perfect getaway--comfort, cleanliness, ambiance, and warm hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by Amit, the host, who is truly exceptional. His friendly nature and helpful attitude made my stay even more special. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, offering valuable local tips and assistance whenever needed. The rooms are impeccably clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly cozy, making it feel like a home away from home. The sitting area, adorned with warm lights, creates a magical ambiance at night, almost transforming the space into a fairyland. It's the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Darjeeling. One of the highlights of this stay is its location. Situated just beside the main road, it is easily accessible yet peaceful. It is only 2.5 kilometers away from Mall Road, making it convenient to explore the town while staying in a serene environment. A major attraction of this stay is the breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga. Unfortunately, due to the weather, I wasn't lucky enough to witness its grandeur this time. However, I can only imagine how stunning the view must be on a clear day. Overall, The Guiding Monk is a perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and warm hospitality. Whether you're looking for a cozy retreat or a convenient base to explore Darjeeling, this stay is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this beautiful hill station.

Perfect rooms for the family, the room we got was a duplex and has two queen beds in it which is best for family of four or gang of friends. Amit Nigam was friendly and hosted us as a family member. We did not feel that we are in a home-stay... felt as if we are staying in a friend's or relative's home. Much recommended.

I stayed in a family room. It's perfect for a family of 4 and recommended if you're accompanied by kids. Location is quite good. Accessing the room is a bit difficult (especially for moving the luggage) as the vehicle can't reach the homestay and Amit is the only person managing the homestay. Amit's hospitality sets off the access issue :)

We went there to celebrate our friend's birthday. The host Mr. Amit Nigam is very friendly and helping, he helped us out to plan the surprise. The food is amazing, the rooms are clean. You get a mesmerizing view of the Kanchanjunga.
