The English Cottage Darjeeling

The English Cottage has to be the best place in Darjeeling! This was our second visit to the hill town and missing out on a booking the previous time, I booked this place well in advance having been mystified by the images and certainly the high praises. It exceeded our expectations-be it the breakfast, the comfortable rooms, and the home like feeling. The cherry on the cake is the uninterrupted view that you get of the Kanchenjunga range-we were blessed with good weather in the morning. I ought to mention the lovely breakfast conversation with Sanjeev and Sharon and the other guests there; watching the mountains, listening to anecdotes and realising the happy spread will remain etched in my memory.

Our stay at the English Cottage in Darjeeling was truly special. This beautiful home, full of old-world charm, is in one of the best locations in Darjeeling, offering stunning views of the majestic Kanchenjunga. Although we weren't lucky enough to see the peaks due to cloudy weather, the gorgeous setting, cozy and comfortable rooms, and, most of all, the warmth of our hosts, Sanjeev and Sharon, more than made up for it. The hospitality was outstanding. Every morning, we enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast at the community table, chatting with fellow guests and our wonderful hosts. The variety and freshness of the food, along with the friendly conversations, made each morning a highlight of our stay. Even though a year has passed since our visit, the memories are still fresh. The beauty of Darjeeling and the charm of English Cottage made this trip unforgettable, and we would love to return someday.

Our three night stay at The English Cottage in Darjeeling was an absolute delight! We had a of stunning view of the mountains right from our bedroom! It was magical to wake up to the sight of snow-capped peaks bathed in the morning light.....truly magical -- the view will simply take your breath away. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, always ready with a smile, and gave us helpful tips for exploring the area. The rooms were cozy, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated, offering the perfect balance of comfort and charm. One of the best parts of our stay was the breakfast. We were treated to a delicious spread of local dishes that were both hearty and flavorful, a perfect start to our day. The homemade treats were a wonderful touch, and you could taste the love and care put into each dish. Our stay at English cottage left us with wonderful memories. Rooms were neat and clean with all necessary essentials. Breakfast was great! Hosts and staff were wonderful and so helpful in making our trip to Darjeeling a memorable one and special. Thanks to Sanjeev and Sharon we had an offbeat Darjeeling trip. Their suggestions and delicacies gave a great start to the day. On special request, they arranged for flowers and cake and made our day/occasion a spl one. Based on their suggestion, we visited best locations, had great food, drinks and teas. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! I don't have enough words to express. Last but not least, view from English cottage left us in awe!! No need to visit Tiger hill as we get the same view from cottage itself!

The trip to Darjeeling was planned as a family trip and also to celebrate my birthday. There was a surprise birthday cake presented to me by the host which was such a thoughtful gesture. The cottage is well located, very charming, tastefully done up and a great place to stay.
