Norbu Thungkar Homestay

Everything about this homestay is perfect! The entire city of Darjeeling and the entire Kanchenjunga range is visible from literally EVERY ROOM in this property! The views, the position of the property and the rooms within, the decoration, the food, everything was perfect! I'm pretty sure that such a combination of views, cleanliness, attention to detail, food and service is a very, very difficult luxury to find in the entire city of Darjeeling! We had booked the Quadruple Room with Mountain View, and the view from the room was breathtaking! The rooms have been built in such a way that the entire city of Darjeeling and the entire Kanchenjunga range is visible right from the comfort of the bed - you won't even need to get up to go to the balcony or the terrace! But if you do decide to go to the balcony or the terrace, it's even better, providing a 270-degree view of the entire Darjeeling city, the Kanchenjunga range and all the surrounding mountains and valleys! The balconies and the terrace are beautifully decorated - they have cute chairs and tables and have been positioned very thoughtfully so that people can soak in the picturesque view of the entire city of Darjeeling and the majesty of the entire Kanchenjunga range in a single frame while having their meals. Coming to the room, it exceeded our expectations! The rooms were very aesthetic and meticulously planned to provide the best views possible from the big windows and balconies. They were spotlessly clean and very tastefully and beautifully decorated. The balconies had cute chairs and tables in them, so one can enjoy their morning tea or coffee while soaking in the sunlight, watching the city of Darjeeling come to life while also seeing the Kanchenjunga range change colours throughout the day. The food was also spot on - neither too spicy, nor too bland, and the quantity was more than sufficient!

Stayed for 3 nights. Incredible views of Kanchenjunga range from the room and the balcony. A bit hard to reach initially but definitely worth it. The price is fair and the food is good here. The staff is very warm and friendly. It's about a 30 min walk from the Mall Market. Food is a bit expensive. Very good place overall!

I had an amazing experience staying at Mountain View and Pine Wood Room! The scenic views of the mountains were breathtaking, and the peaceful ambiance made it a perfect getaway. The room itself was beautifully designed with warm wooden interiors, creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring every part of our stay was comfortable. The fresh mountain air, serene surroundings, and top-notch amenities made this an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a place to unwind, enjoy nature, and wake up to stunning views, this is the place to be! Highly recommend it!

I strongly advise- DO NOT book Norbu Thungkar Homestay. I've traveled extensively across India and abroad, and this was by far the worst stay I've experienced. The owner was rude and often displayed anger, making us feel very unwelcome. Any requests we made were ignored or dismissed outright. We didn't just book rooms--we also arranged for their car services and some meals--but the attitude remained the same, as if they were doing us a favor. Customer care seemed to end the moment the booking was confirmed. Meals and breakfast were consistently served very late, and they charged nearly five times more than local restaurants for food. Their hot water was not working and they took long time to fix it. Overall, it was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience.

We had a very pleasant experience in Norbu Homestay. The room is clean and comfortable with a good mountain view. We felt like home. Priyak's parents greeted us well and we enjoyed the home food as well.

We had an absolutely great experience staying in this homestay. The rooms were excellent and clean. The view from our balcony was magnificent. The owner was very helpful in every concern that we had.

I was there with my family a week ago, this home stay was horrible, they have no hot water, they have everything broken, specially owner was horrible, his behavior was too rude, I've never seen any home stay owner or hotel owner behave like that. They will literally blame you for wrong things, and owner was a liar too, he lied to us and blamed us. Even owner's son is also odd he don't answer call when we were in problem, he never answered our calls. His behavior is rude too just like his father.The owner force us to rent expensive cab, also we asked for 1 veg thali without onions and garlic, but they made the food with onions and garlic, my mom couldn't eat anything because of that, but they charged for the thali, I won't recommend this home stay to anyone.....
