INDUS MOUNT ROYALE - 3 STAR HOTEL IN DARJEELING MALL

During my recent trip to Sikkim and Darjeeling, I had the pleasure of staying at Mount Royale Hotel for the Darjeeling phase of my tour. While I initially had some difficulty finding the hotel, my frustration quickly faded when the hotel staff sent a boy to guide me. Not only did he help me find the hotel, but he also picked up one of my luggage bags, which was a kind and thoughtful gesture that immediately set a positive tone for my stay. Upon arrival, I was assigned a well-decorated and organized room. While I did notice the absence of tissue paper, slippers, and towels in the bathroom, I always carry these essentials while traveling, so it wasn't a major issue for me. However, what did cause some inconvenience was a structural flaw in the bathroom floor, where the slant directed water toward the bathroom door, leading to slight accumulation. Despite this minor drawback, the other amenities and services more than made up for it. As someone who travels frequently and has experienced a variety of accommodations, ranging from budget hotels to 3-star and 4-star properties, I have often faced issues with hot water availability. In many places, either the geyser wouldn't work or the staff would control it externally, making it difficult to access. However, at Mount Royale, hot water was available 24/7, ensuring a comfortable stay. Another highlight was the Android TV in the room, which allowed me to enjoy the ICC Champions Trophy final between India and NZ. While many hotels provide televisions, they often lack useful channels--but this was not the case here. Beyond the comfortable stay, what truly made this hotel stand out was the exceptional hospitality. Usually, when checking out of a hotel, the staff are least bothered about where you go, but here, they went the extra mile. Not only did they guide me to the nearest shared cab stand, but they also carried my luggage and ensured I boarded the cab safely. What truly impressed me was that they never demanded or even hinted at a tip--something that is quite rare in the hospitality industry. Their genuine helpfulness and professionalism were remarkable. Had I remembered the name of the staff member who assisted me, I would have mentioned it here as a token of appreciation. Nonetheless, I must emphasize that the kindness, hospitality, and service quality at Mount Royale exceeded my expectations. Despite minor issues, the positive aspects of my stay far outweighed any drawbacks, making this hotel truly deserving of a 5-star rating. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Darjeeling! 5/5 - Exceptional hospitality and great value for money!

Location very much congested. Lift can carry one person with luggage or two persons, that also doesn't work properly. Surroundings are not good. It is very difficult for vehicles to reach the property.

Property is good. Staff behavior is good. Excellent service. 100% safety. Location is very good. Mall walking distance only 3 mints.

We stayed at Mount Royale from 25th Dec to 26th Dec Pros Friendly staff Decent food Cons 1) Terrible location - Had to walk through steep hills to reach 2) No view- We booked rooms specifically for mountain View, but only saw wires and road. 3) Water issues - Could not get hot water as geyzer was broken 4) Broken Faucet 5) Unclean bathroom and sheets 6) Constant Loadsheddings - Whenever we tried to heat water in electric kettle, electricity would go out, as a solution they told us not to heat up water 7) Room heater- Paid extra for room heater (gave a hot wind blower) which did not do anything 8) Bad sofa cum bed- A broken sofa cum bed was provided(for extra person) . Uneven bed that made it extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. Overall a horrible experience. I wouldn't recommend the hotel even to my worst enemies. Kind of marred Darjeeling for us. Extremely overpriced dismal establishment.

I'm in this hotel with my family. Room service for drinking water, hot water, calling bell are very poor in super delux room. There were no light in the toilet & room in one of our super delux room. They are clarifying something other than the actual while asking. Not recommended

Horrible experience. Most 3rd class hotel in Darjeeling. There's no hot water in the toilet even a single drop. Requested several times but they didn't bother to rectify the same. Room is so small and quality of room very poor. Even you can't stay with children. Very Unhygienic. Whatever you will see in photos that will not match with actual. And lastly hotel manager behaviour is very bad.

Worst behaviour and they are fooling me like joker ! I booked super deluxe view room for 3 days with advanced but when I arrived they told me that only for one day you may get super deluxe room rest of the days you have to adjust with deluxe non view room ... They don't have proper booking confirmation! Be careful about it!

I have never seen such a hotel anywhere, it was a very useless experience, it shows something, something else happens, we will convince anyone to come to this hotel, this hotel is not as per the money they charge, these hotel people scam If I had an option, I wouldn't even give a single star. oh hello, when did I ask you for hakka noodles and when did I ask you for the new year event, don't say this in a joking manner, is this how your hotel is run with joking talks and your breakfast was absolutely cold
