Hotel Silver Star

We used to visit here to have our meals only, the staffs were very polite and friendly. They made us lunch at 5pm for us specially when nothing was available! The place is very neat and clean. The food I've had till now were tasty. It felt like home. Next time if i visit darjeeling again, I'd surely stay here.

We booked a "Premium" room for our stay--what followed was nothing short of a tragicomedy. We arrived on a miserably cold, rainy afternoon and were immediately greeted by an exceptionally rude gentleman at reception (his rudeness, impressively, remained consistent throughout our less-than-24-hour ordeal). He wasted no time informing us that there was no parking available and that our only option was to cough up 300 per night for the multi-level parking across the street. Now, about our "Premium Room with View." A word of caution: not all rooms offer a majestic mountain view. Some, like Room 404, provide an equally breathtaking view of... the neighboring building's water storage tanks. When we politely brought this architectural marvel to the reception's attention and requested a change, we were met with a casual "Aisa hi hota hai." After much pleading, we were generously granted another room that did have somewhat of a view--minus a cupboard and plus a strategically placed pillar in the middle. You know, in case we felt like banging our heads against it in sheer frustration. Oh, and in these "Premium" rooms, heating isn't included. If you fancy staying warm, be prepared to shell out 400 for a highly suspicious-looking, half-melted space heater that exists solely to keep you awake, wondering when it'll catch fire. Slippers? Forget it. The hotel kindly provides one bathroom pair per room, so enjoy tiptoeing barefoot on the freezing cold floor. And then there was the bathroom. Because what's a stay without some excitement? The toilet seat was broken, which, on the bright side, added an element of surprise to each visit. Will you fall off? Will you make it? A thrilling experience, truly. All in all, this was a stay to remember--for all the wrong reasons. Would we recommend this place? Only if we secretly despised you.

Placed at a walkable distance from the railway station is this little property with compact rooms. Right at the main road opposite to municipality parking. You can pay and park vehicles in there and easily find taxis. Rooms are old and yet maintained to a decent extend. In a tourist destination this is a value for money.

Very spacious room with all basic amenities and stunning views. My room was on the top most floor of the building and I could see Mt Kanchenjunga very clearly. The staff at the reception are very courteous and helpful. Although our rooms didn't come with a heater, we could rent one for a reasonable price. Do keep in mind that this is a vegetarian hotel and you're not allowed to order/ bringin non vegetarian food from outside. Do they have their own vegetarian food in-house as well.

One of the best hotel at a very affordable price. The staff is very humble, rooms are very clean, and view is proper, also its in walking distance to joy ride, as well as mall market, so makes it easy to explore the areas without cabs.

Fantastic room, just ahead of toy station.. I m impressed with their service. They really have amazing staff, very friendly and helpful people.. 5 stars exclusively for service

I never have experienced such a good staff behaviour....rooms were near and clean....all services are available at just a call.....excellent service
