Hotel Mandala

Though this Hotel Mandala, Darjeeling do not deserve even a single Star rating but there is no option for below single star rating. On seeing good pictures and some reviews on the MMT portal, We booked two rooms on Make My Trip portal through M/s Omsai Tour and Travels, Mohali for 17th and 18th April. But, when reached the Hotel premises on 17th April, it was to our great astonishment and shocking to see that location of the hotel was in a very dirty surroundings and no place for parking. It was even very difficult to unload the luggage in that very narrow and congested 'gali'. It was not even a proper road. More shocking, when we entered the Reception Area. It was all dirty and stinking all around. The passage to the washroom in Reception area was blocked by the water bottles and it was not good for usage by the guests. Mr. Akshay and two other persons who attended us on the Reception counter were very untidily and very casually dressed and so was there behaviour. He offered us two very small rooms, which were NOT looking like, that in any sense, these can be used by the guests. The rooms were not cleaned and dust and dirt was very well visible and seen everywhere. The rooms were seems to be used by the previous guests and were offered to us as it is. The washrooms were leaking, not cleaned and stinking like public toilets . Though we had paid Rs.10000/- in advance, we requested for refund of the money. The Receptionist openly refused to refund the money and also misbehaved with us. Not to create any scene and to be on the safer side we decided to move to another Duckling Hotel on the Mall, which was comparatively clean. We have written to MMT authorities for horrible service and bad behaviour by Hotel Mandala and have requested them for refund of our money. I would request the tourists, who are going to book this Hotel Mandala in Darjeeling to please note that is not a good hotel and do not go by the fake photos and fake reviews. Thanks

We stayed at Hotel mandal (old). This was booked by our tour operator, "Help the tourists". We didn't find the room and area good at all. Rooms wear very small for the family of four. Also, the hotel's entry was very, very dirty. We found the main areas of Darjeeling also very dirty. The food quality of the hotel was also not up to the mark. But response and support from the hotel manager were very good. As we were not conformable with the room, he arranged one complimentary room for us. This gave us good support for the day. The next day, we switched to another hotel. I am giving 3 stars only for the support by the manager and his support. Otherwise, the hotel and room are not even 1 star.

The hotel is extremely dirty and the rooms and washroom stink bad. The Manager needs to be more professional in handling his bookings. We had booked room with view which was apparently given to someone else a day prior we checked in and we were given standard compact rooms. The rooms are not at all the same shown on any booking platform. For breakfast we were just served with puri bhaji and no other option

I recently stayed at a hotel in Darjeeling, and it was a wonderful experience! The views of the mountains were absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunrise. I recently stayed at Hotel Mandala , and I must say, it's a whole new experience! The hotel is under new ownership, and the renovation is remarkable. Everything from the rooms to the service has been upgraded. I stayed for 2 days, and the breathtaking views of Darjeeling added to the charm. The staff was incredibly hospitable, and the overall vibe of the hotel was peaceful and refreshing. This is not the same old property you might have heard about--it's now a perfect place to relax and enjoy Darjeeling! Highly recommend it!

Location of the hotel is close to the main market area , however it involves a steep walk of 15 mins to reach the hotel. The hotel is not clean and washrooms smells pungent. Breakfast buffet only served puri bhaji without salt & salt was also served 10mins later. Our bookings made 2 months prior were mishandled by the Manager and we had to wait for 2 hours after arriving to get our rooms.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel 'Mandala' for 3 nights, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I checked in, the staff were friendly, attentive, and respectful towards us. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fantastic hotel experience.
