Chalet Hotel

Although the location is good but it's not at all comfortable & the bathroom is the worst & horrible place . This hotel is too old & the maintenance is not up to the mark . The mirror of our room was broken & the geyser was not working . We suffered a lot and we got a horrible experience. The tap of the washroom was not working it was broken. The flow of the water was like droplets and the whole hotel was like a haunted house. We will not recommend this hotel even to our enemies.

Although located right in the famous Mall road of Darjeeling, I will not recommend this place for a stay. The hotel undoubtedly has the vintage charm which attract tourists, however the rooms and bathrooms are not at all maintained. The service is poor, with hot water available for limited period of time and basic amenities missing in the room. Also, while booking the room, the manager/owner was not clear whether the room would be with mountain view or with mall view, thus misleading us and confusing us. We had booked the room with an impression that the room would be providing a view of Mt. Kanchenjunga but were utterly disappointed after reaching the hotel.

This is the best place where you can stay in Darjeeling if you really want to stay in Mall Road. Though they don't have food options, one can easily avail the food joints nearby. I've been staying in this hotel right from my childhood. A heritage property with heritage feel for those who are not much into dazzle properties. Behaviour of staff is very polite and heartwarming. Must stay in the mall-view rooms to experience the activities that goes on all day long with music and songs in the evenings. Ideal for elderly people like me who don't want to walk up and down the hilly steep ways of Darjeeling.

Everything starts with our expectations. So it's all about what are you looking for in Darjeeling. If you are a traveler in real sense, loving to feel the ambience of the place you are visiting and not looking for a place that reminds you of your home then Chalet is the right choice for you. The hotel is right on the mall of Darjeeling which reflects the vibes of this wonderful town in a perfect way. The eateries, the market and the Kanchenjunga is just few stairs down. The staff are excellent and so is the owner Mr.Pravir. It's a no-nonsense place to stay as many days you want. If you want to get the best then look for the mall view rooms well in advance.

The location of this hotel is the best , because it's the only hotel on Darjeeling Mall. One can view the whole mall by sitting inside the room. The rooms are on the first floor, so have to climb a lot of steps reaching the rooms. There are some problems too, they don't have an in- house restaurant altough one can get a lot of food options nearby, and the taps in the washroom have small flow of water. One cannot get hot water throughout the day even if there is a geyser inside the washroom. They provide geyser service only from 7a.m to 9 a.m. The staffs are courteous and well-behaved.They have rooms both mall facing and non facing rooms with wooden floors and ceilings and wooden wall paneling , washrooms are small.

Location wise fantastic. Could not ask for better option. Staffs are very helpful and polite. Such a beautiful heritage hotel. But to our surprise maintainance is not upto the mark. Bed sheets are old, stained and somewhere torn. Blankets were not clean. Overall experience of staying at a heritage hotel is led down due to lack of proper repair and renovation that is required to uphold the old charm for which we are paying..

The main USP of this hotel is the Mall of Darjeeling. This hotel is right on the mall. One of the heritage property constructed in the year 1905. The rooms are spacious with all basic amenities. They don't have any in-house restaurants so for food you have to venture out..But for the perfect location this hotel is highly recommended in Darjeeling

If you want to be stay at the mall then this is the right choice for you. Rooms are clean, queen size beds. Three people can sleep very well in the beds. We stayed in the basement room, 1800 rs per day. Which is value of money.
