A Hotel That Has Lost Its Charm Rating: 2.5/5 stars I'm disappointed to say that my recent stay at this hotel in Feb '25 was a letdown. I had previously stayed here in 2016 and had a wonderful experience - the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. However, my latest visit revealed a stark contrast. The hotel's maintenance and cleanliness have deteriorated significantly. The rooms, although spacious, lacked the sparkle they once had. On a positive note, the hotel staff were exceptional - friendly, cooperative, and helpful. The location is also a major plus, situated just opposite the iconic Coochbehar Palace Gate. While this hotel still has potential, it urgently needs to address its maintenance and cleanliness issues to regain its former glory. Recommendation: With some renovation and attention to detail, this hotel could once again become a top choice for travelers. Until then, it's an average option.

One of the wrost service ever I have seen..... Don't recommend this for you guys

We have spent 3 nights in this property. Location is undoubtedly prime. People can enjoy the view of Rajbari from the rooms and balcony. Rooms are spacious and illuminated properly. Rooms are well equipped, amenities are modern but need some maintenance. Staff are polite and courteous but a bit slow. The worst part of the property is the food price. This is too high and exorbitant. The food tasted average and the amount is not too much as compared to the price. Most importantly, it is not the palace of Coochbehar. It is a hotel and restaurant situated just opposite the Rajbari.

Good if you have to comment on location. Not very good if to comment on room renovation. Torn curtains with stained bed sheets and curtains. Good points were the room view the furniture the bathroom . The balcony view from room 106 was amazing . The price is also okkay so over all a bit of renovations will make the hotel just amazing.

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels in Cooch Behar. After arrival you are warmly welcomed by the staff and receptionist. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the restaurant supervisor deserves a special thanks. The hotel is situated in a very popular location. The view of the famous Cooch Behar palace from the balcony is the cherry on the cake. Rooms are clean and the service is good. You can get AC amd non AC rooms in a affordable price. There are 2 resturant and a cafeteria inside the hotel. Cooch Behar Bus stand is in walking distance from the hotel. Transportation for sightseeing is easily gettable from the hotel. Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the general manager who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!

While not the most spacious, the rooms are clean and the staff really helpful. The rate is quite economical too. Luckily for us, we have a direct view of the palace from the room terrace. All in all, unless you want to spend the entire day locked up in the room, will recommend Maharani Palace. Just beware the exorbitant price for the restaurant food.

The location and rooms were simply excellent. Especially the view of the palace from the balcony was also really good. We could literally see the palace from the balcony of each and every room. Also the service was very impressive as we were provided all the necessities on time. I simply loved the experience and am looking forward to visiting the place once again !

Location wise it is good. Stayed here for a night, though sleep was good. Staff behaviour is very good. Room was clean size was big enough but still scope of improvement. Food was good. We would love to stay again in this hotel if we are visiting again in Coochbehar.
