Shantiniketan Home Stay

We booked a hotel trip from 27/12/24 to 29/12/24 but due to some train issues we didn't got to arrive at shantiniketan on that date and the owner said that the prices of rooms are 4x more than normal during poush mela so we agreed on 3000 and we rescheduled the date to 3/1/25 to 6/1/25. the owner said they will lower the charge massively but when we got to the hotel they only lowered the charge by 25%. In the first night when we order roti and tarka. They bought it form a nearby hotel and its name is roy hotel. We did our breakfast on 5/1/25 on the roy hotel they showed us their portions . The scammers from this shantiniketan home stay gave us half tadka in the name of full plate and costed the tarka 2x they charged 35 rupees tarka on the price of 70 and rotis 6 rupees while it was only 5. On the second day they gave us half chicken on the price of full plate. Mrinmoy and a guy named kailas did all of this scam the hotel owner was good he is a teacher but the manager is ride when we ordered some extra rotis he said "It doesn't matter if you eat or not". and as the location wise it is expensive as hell the closest toto stand is live 600 metres from the hotel and there isn't a single shop nearby to eat and the bed was like a wooden plank we couldn't even sleep properly and they didn't cleaned out room for 3 days straight but charged cleaning charges.This homestay was nothing more than a curse on our trip.

Very far distance from bolpur stn,nearer to Prantik stn.No food court.Stairs not ready.No inhouse food available. Very difficult to find evening snacks.Heigenic food court is far distance.

The location is prantik, village area, not proper town...outskirt of the city of shantiniketan. Room was average..but the service was not good, you will get only blanket cover..no blanket .. bathroom was good. But according to their charge per night.. it's expensive. You don't have Tv, table for eating. They will provide you seperate plastic table if you want. But according to the location and room..the rent RS. 1200 per night was high. In this price you will get many hotels within the city. We wanted to experience homestay so booked this hotel. You will get better hotels for lesser price within proper town.

Worst homestay.I never seen such worst room beds,small room. Location is outskirts. In that price you will get better hotel.

Worst place don't look for cheap cheaters, much better homestay available on main road. Prantik is a very beautiful place I'm santiniketan with wide roads and street light which is not there in other places of bolpur. But this is a full cheap hotel / home. Pls look for better service and cleaner rooms in locality as we did. And got wonderfully room on main road with real homestay experience. Pls be aware!!!

Third graded cheaters. First in the booking .com as well as oyo .they mentioned ac rooms. Once u reach there oyo mentions being a spot on property . It is not compulsory to give all amenities mentioned. Thereafter the owners behaviour is like a goonda irrespective of the fact he is a teacher Mr haldar. I had booked for 3 days and paid advance for 1 day . They were continously convincing me to book directly rather than any app. Secondly once I said that I will pay the. Remaining 2 days later as I have already made advance . And after denial off ac and lokking at mosquito and keedas of all kinds . The owner threathens to deny the check-in and even he is capable of throwing u out without any fault . Even u disagree that there are no mosquito . And believe me it is a night mare . As it is a deserted place hence there is no option hence he is doing all dadagiri . DONt GET LURED BY GREENERY. U WILL SUFFER

Excellent people with awesome behaviour, Specially by Boudi, the wife of Mr.Haldar. coock is awesome, homely food and environment. ROOMS are BIG rather gigantic with clean bathrooms. Have gone there once, will again visit.

It was a very decent homestay. The peeps are friendly and Mr. Tarak is very helpful abd a brilliant conversationalist. The owner is a teacher by profession and is very professional. The location is great and cooler than the main town. Very close to sonajhuri.
