This hotel in the heart of Bishnupur is a well-located property with a serene atmosphere and a beautiful garden. It offers a peaceful stay amidst greenery. However, the maintenance could be significantly improved. Many areas of the property were quite dirty, which took away from the overall experience. With better upkeep, this hotel could truly shine as a comfortable and pleasant stay in Bishnupur

The room & the location of this property was nice. The positive point is that all sightseeing places are under 2 km radius from this property. The hotel staff was well behaved. The food quality & taste was good. Though the range is a bit high. The only negative point is that they don't provide blanket cover, which seems unhealthy. The overall experience was very nice.

Centrally located in the town of Bishnupur with a huge campus, very near to top tourist sites. Reasonable rates of the amenities provided. Spacious rooms with all essential amenities available. Very good restaurant with excellent service staff. RO water available. Only deficiency was that can improve maintenance spl linens as it looked like they were not changing it regularly. Otherwise a wonderful stay.

We have stayed 2 nights on this resort. The hospitality, services was exceptional. The resort is having great location and it is in the middle of the bishnupur city. Food quality was very good but even after it is in the heart of the city the food price is too much high for this property. We have gone for outside food. Only taken the complimentary breakfast from here. We booked two 2 bedded room from wbtdcl website. The room rent is too much high. But around bishnupur with parking you don't have much option also. Room was spacious, neat and clean. They have provided basic toilet kit, bath kit and dental kit for all the 4 persons. They have provided complimentary 1ltr mineral water bottles also. There is ample space of car parking inside the resort. They are having a children play ground. There is no option of barbeque and open space for drinking.

Nice and large property with big clean rooms at reasonable rate. Car parking is also available. However restaurant needs to improve and overall the property needs better maintenance. Recommended for tourists

The Ranchi Superfast Express decanted us, cousins at the Bishnupur Station and INR 100 for a Toto (large autorickshaw) took us on bumpy roads to the lodge. We took two rooms, 110 and the adjoining one. ||Rooms are large, well lit (but not well ventilated since the sliding window panes are locked). Rooms open onto a corridor, so keeping the door open is not a viable option. The room had a double bed, big-screen TV, AC, electric kettle, wall-mounted bed-side lamps, etc. Lighting in the room is excellent. Bright light ...none of that mood lighting that leaves the elderly fumbling in a strange room. They even had a floor light so that I didnot stumble when I got out of bed. The attached bathroom is large. The geyser switch ensures hot water although you donot actually see the geyser. Simple amenities are provided...example comb, shower gel, shaving kit, dental kit etc. Bucket and mug (avoid) is provided but the shower is good. ||The linen is not clean. I always take washed sheets from home. One for the bed and one as an undersheet for the quilt/blanket. Thankfully, (as opposed to the sister lodge in Barrackpore) the soft, lighweight quilt had a white cotton cover. I used my sheets and did not spare a thought about hygeine. My cousin, on the other hand, called housekeeping and for a small tip got all the linen changed (pillows, bolsters and sheets etc.)...then she fretted about where the sheets had been sun-dried. So, you have two options! Bottomline: Not so clean linen is a given.||The food is surprisingly palatable, especially the wonderfully vegetable loaded, flavourful, yet watery, Chicken stew with buttered toast for dinner. Chinese stuff is good too. Try the Posto bora or sesame fritter too if opting for Bengali cuisine. The mutton (goat-meat) was tasty yet not full of masala paste. Their main chef is a good one. They even make the old school Caramel custard.||The complimentary breakfast is meh: Choice of poori and spicy potato curry or bread and eggs with banana and a sweet.||2 bottles of packaged drinking water provided in the room everyday. There is a facility right next to Room 110 to fill drinking water bottles too.||The open air chairs under the old mango trees is a good place to sun yourself in winter but beware of taking eatables out...langurs abound. Dogs and puppies too. I love animals but cannot forget for a second that rabies is endemic in India.||There is a toto stand right outside the main gate and most will take you sight seeing. We paid INR 200 an hour. Drivers are polite and not greedy. ||Local accredited guides are available...we went with Mr Achintya Banerjee one of the seniormost. the famous Rasmancha and Chinnamasta temple are walking distance and we strolled down by ourselves once we visited with the guide on the first day. The Chinnamasta temple road is lined with lovely souvenir shops selling stuff at INR 30-40 what we paid INR 150 for at Panchmura Potter's village.||The Museum is worth a visit and is barely a couple of minute's walk from the lodge. Right across the Museum is a shop that sells good Bishnupr silk at rates at par with those in the shops of Kolkata. All in all, the lodge is well-located.||Taxi owners (or maybe middlemen) will also meet you at the front desk and provide taxis. A Mr Rana provided us a car with a good driver (Mr Sumanta) who took us to Panchmura -a terracotta potters village (total waste if bargain hunting is your great joy) and Bikna (better)-a Dokraware hub. INR 2500 (return trip).||The negatives in a nutshell||1) Not so clean linen ||2) General shabbiness. The Room key of 110 refused to comeout and I had to LEARN to extract it once I opened the door. I mean how many times a day can you call the staff. The bathroom basin tap was loose...it kept shaking.||3) Extremely LOUD guests who for all their apparent sophistication LAUGH so loudly as to bring the Dining Room roof down or yell from one end of the corridor to someone at the other end...waking people resting in the afternoon. the staff apologises.."How can we reprimand guests?" But they readily admit that clashes between two groups of guests have broken out over this issue.||4) Confused front desk: We were leaving at 6.30 AM ish to catch the Purulia Superfast Express back to Howrah. Checkout is at 11 AM. I asked if the Canteen could pack us sandwiches. (We had explored the shops outside but could not get ourselves to buy food from fly-infested sweet shops and had not spotted any fruit sellers). ||I asked the Front desk what their policy was. The gentleman manning the front desk said he would try and find out if sandwiches could be packed since the kitchen would be closed...but he would do it as a FAVOUR to me since we had requested so nicely!!!! I said, I did not need a favour but wanted to know what the Lodge did for all guests leavng early. That was that. ||The dining hall staff serving lunch said we needed to ask the crew doing the night shift while also letting us know, Oh so politely, that we would not be meeting again this trip...this subtle hint is actually a nudge for tips. I had fallen for it in Barrackpur. Not this time. ||This time, I left a tip when I settled the bill...one of the canteen staff came to the front desk and kept an eye or else, he told me the front desk would not give them a share. This part of the goodbye ritual always makes me feel bad. If only they had a LOCKED Tip box. ||Finally, I figured out that if no cooking was involved, part of the complimentary breakfast COULD BE packed and given to us at dinner. So we got very lightly toasted, buttered bread, boiled eggs, banana. We never expected the syrupy sweets.....Moral of story? You tell me. ||Bottomline: Safe, affordable, friendly, well-located place crying out for some tender loving care plus a bit of consideration for co-guests.
