Sinclairs Burdwan

We are a southern American family who are traveling with 2 small children (1.5 year old and 5 year old).||I want to put the absolute most positive aspect of this hotel first. The restaurant does an outstanding job for being in such an isolated part of India. The customer service is great, and they try their damnedest to make your food the way you want it. They do have a limited American menu as well, but the food is decent, and only $3-4 per meal. Breakfast is complimentary, and has mostly Indian dishes, but you can always get eggs made to order.||I would like to give a personal shout out to Swarup Mukherjee who works at the Saffron restaurant. He really stepped up to the plate to make us feel welcome, ensure that our needs were taken care of, and that our children got some extra special attention.||The hotel runs around $100 per night, and this is not too far off from American prices.||The hotel has a decent gym and a dedicated play area for kids. This is big plus, especially when you are trying to keep your world small.||This place is pretty much a full-time conference and event center, that just happens to also be a hotel. We stayed here for like 2 weeks, and they had a wedding reception or doctors conference every day; however, there are always little to no overnight guests.||The rooms are simple, but they have most of what you need. Our room had 2 tvs, and they did have some programs to watch, but it was hard to operate. I would suggest bringing your own hard drive full or movies, or maybe an Amazon fire stick so you can watch American programs. The staff are nice, and they do try their best; however, at the of day, this is India, and Burdwan is in the middle of no where; therefore, there seems to be a constant struggle to keep the hotel clean. In other words; the natural air is so dirty, that it carries a soot like material in it that gets on your feet, socks and shoes even when you walk inside your room. Everytime we asked for something from the hotel staff, they came through and did a great job.

We have a very good time here and specially Mr. Swarup Mukherjee gave us a very warm welcome and he was very sweet and efficient throughout. The food is also delicious. I Highly recommend this place to those who wants to spend a quiet and lovely dinner.

The banquet is spacious, well lit and beautiful. The Hall room is large and the approach to podium is lit with LED/RGB. The space for dining is decently spacious. The washrooms are adjacent, well maintained and the same corridor leads to the swimming pool. It's a good venue.

A wonderful place where availability of rooms and etc facilities are there. A neat and clean campus with beautifully maintained interior and exterior surroundings. The most interesting is the flora of the campus. They are designed and maintained so properly that they spread evergreen fresh air all over the area. The rooms are cozy, clean, and have a big space covered interior.

Sinclairs Burdwan was so disappointing...we stayed here for two nights wanted a relaxed break however the maintenance of the place was so disappointing..we checked in one of the premium rooms on the second floor where the room key card was malfunctioning... every time we wanted to go out we had to call the staff to help us ..on complaining the staff apologised and promptly shifted us to another room which was however inconvenient as we had to re pack and unpack again...still we adjusted.. now this second premium room on the second floor facing the swimming pool apparent seemed nice airy and clean however the worst part was sleeping here at night... mosquitoes throughout the night kept us awake... whenever we seeked help the staff promptly tried to help but the inconveniences caused were enough to spoil our two days stay to relax at this property. The only thing we can appreciate is the breakfast served complimentary with the room was good , food quality is good but price is quite high ...

We were welcomed by Thakur, great hospitality and nice atmosphere in this hotel. |The staff is friendly and the place is extremly clean. It's a bit far from the city center bit close from the bus stand. There is a nice pool also.|Thank you, I recommend!

We had a reception party at the property.|Both the manage ( Mr. Thaler) & the person in the reception were friendly. Food was great, specially Fish curry & Mutton.|Other good side of this property was clean & has elevator. It was big help for our elderly guests.|It has swimming pool, where guests can take picture and look around to pass their time.|Only negative side is the ongoing construction on GT road which create congestion

Excellent stay, very cooperative and cordial staff. Helped us in organising stay and haldi ceremony of our son. Food served as requisitioned. Provided us alternative location, since weather suddenly detoriated during Thunder Squall and heavy un seasonal rains
