Tourist Rest House Tanakpur (Kumaun Mandal Vikas Nigam Limited)

KMVN rest house at Tanakpur has awesomely located with ample parking space. Complemented by friendly team spearheaded by Mr. Manoj Kumar, who is very polite, sincere in his approach. Food is prepared as per your request by Suraj & served with smile. Only con is, rest house doesn't provide bottled drinking water on comp basis, which is a common factor. Periodic maintenance of AC and Regular dry cleaning of blankets, will give feathers to Hygiene. I have enjoyed my stay & will continue to stay at TRH Tanakpur.

Stayed here from 16th October for two nights. We stayed at the recently renovated room which was good & spacious. Bathroom was also good but the only problem was the shower was not working. The hotel has the restaurant facility though the menu option is very limited. Specially mentioning the cordial behaviour of the hotel Manager who was helpful enough to make arrangement for car rental for our 12 days Kumaon trip & also a day trip to Purnagiri Darshan. Overall it is a suitable place to stay at Tanakpur.

I stayed in Tourist Rest House of Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam in Tanakpur for seeking Blessings of Maa Purnagiri, during 20-22/04/25. It was a great experience, except professional touch in support staff like Cook. Cook didn't know how to cook even Parathas. Restaurant was for name sake and was just a Dinning Hall. There was no proper support for Cabs to reach the Temple. Local Administration also put so many restrictions on movement of Cabs, locally arranged. Administration should also make arrangements for E-Auto Rickshaw, apart from unsafe Battery Rickshaws. However, I appreciate Mr. Manoj Kumar, KMVN Official, may be Manager, who was very humble, polite and cooperative.

Staff is friendly and the rooms are neat and clean. Food serving is up to the mark , but not many options of dinner are available,but the food they offer is really fresh , tasty and the serving pattern is Good . Water Buckets need to be cleaner, toilet papers were missing, dustbins should have inner polybags . Quilts need to be more clean with better hygiene standards . Should offer Mineral Water, Also required electronic cattle with tea bags , so you won't be dependent on the staff for the tea or lukewarm water.

It was a really good rest house for the price. If you are looking for a well maintained and high class guesthouse/hotel then it might not be what you are looking for, but if you are looking for something that is not expensive and good then this place is good. The rooms were good, toilets were clean and all utilities worked properly. Staff is very friendly and helpful and nice people. The interior is nice with a lot of photos and information of Kumaon. We booked 2 non-ac rooms for 600 each which is I guess very compatible and budget friendly. Definitely will go there again

Ok Ok Place Rooms range from anywhere between 2000 - 3000 Dormitory option also available , Per Bed 250 INR Dining is also available Staff is friendly and cooperative .

Overall it was not good as you are not getting food if you are arriving bit late and room are not properly managed it must be taken care of I booked my room 28th of April Dormitory was suggested by your staff as we were around 10 People excluding child as it was quite late and we are exhausted we booked in a hurry and after arriving on room we saw that Only 3 fans are there for the bed of 10 that was very bad we asked for AC rooms but no option was available and there I asked for food no kitchen staff was available Bathroom latch was not there that was too pathetic Please do look into that as the location was very good
