12 Monks is a place like no other. their staff go above and beyond with all accommodation, including arranging transportation, flight booking, booking tours you name it. the rooms are comfortable, and bonus that each room has a beautiful view (pictured). They are known for their music events, and have live music of different kinds 4 days a week. their team of musicians are extremely talented and create a fun and welcoming space to enjoy in the evenings. food is great. and is extremely safe and welcoming place for female travelers as well. make sure to stay here when visiting Rishikesh

We had a really beautiful stay at 12 Monks. The hostel was peaceful, sociable and generally had a really nice vibe. Saturday nights in particular are recommended for the ecstatic dance. The highlight of our stay was our day tour with Babe, who took us into the Himalayan foothills for a day of beautiful food, people and scenery. The itinerary was adapted to our preferences and Babe was the best guide you could ask for. A genuinely unforgettable experience which I could not recommend more.

So I ended up at 12 Monks in Rishikesh kind of by chance, and honestly? Best decision ever. The place is way bigger than your usual hostels here, but it still somehow feels cozy and personal. There's live music, breathwork sessions, ecstatic dance, jam nights--something's always happening (like, 4 days a week at least!). You're not just staying somewhere, you're part of this little creative bubble that keeps pulling you in. I showed up not knowing anyone and left with a bunch of new friends, some wild stories, and that bittersweet feeling of not wanting to leave. If you're heading to Rishikesh and want more than just a bed to crash on, this is your spot.

The 12 monks hostel is truly a wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend to anyone visiting rishikesh. The most memorable experience was thanks to Babe who spent the entire day taking us up to the mountains to see the Sadhus. We ate with locals in the mountains, went to the most spiritual and breathtaking place I've ever been to in my life. It will last with me forever (as will Babe's crazy laugh and kind hearted nature). He's simply the best!!! Staff are so friendly and hospitable, ready to make all guests feel included and immersed in the wonderful spirit of rishikesh. This place added to the magic of India
