Open View Estate Ranikhet

Mr Malhotra.. just a feedback .. your property is not worth tariff of 5400 . Even basic amenities like slippers not provided . The quilts provided can't withstand winters of Ranikhet . I tried to sleep with my jacket on .. it took more than 1 hour time to geyser to heat half a buckle water .. commode flush is not working properly.. one has to use bucket .. if you charge three star tariffs then pls provide basic amenities.

One of the best location in Ranikhet. The whole cottage is very spacious and luxury. Food prepared by Gopal ji was fantastic, feel like home during vacations..I will recommend this cottage if you are willing to visit Ranikhet.

Had a wonderful stay at one of the cottages. The location is perfect, not too close to the crowded town neither too far to miss out on basic availabilities. The balcony gives you an amazing view of the town on one side and the enchanting view of the lesser Himalayas on the other. The host and the staff are very cordial and are ever ready to cater to your wishes be it arrangements for a celebration or trying out local cuisines. Highly recommend for families. Looking forward to our next family trip to the same place.

Pros-:|Good staff behaviour and clean rooms.|Cons-:|Not at all cost effective. Very Money minded owner (Mr. Ashok Mehrotra) who does not permanently reside over there so the owner look it as a money making machine rather service providing facility.|The food is heavily over priced 4pieces of chicken will cost you Rs.330 and 1 chapati is Rs15 and the chapati is very lite so 1 adult can easily consume 4-6 chapati.|We asked the caretaker to bring and cook 1 whole chicken for 4 people the cost of cooking 1.5 kg(1 whole chicken) was 750 that is 500 per kg this is only the cooking cost apart from what you pay for chicken itself.|The loaction was good but then the ranikhet is now heavily urbanised its like living in a city among the crowd. you are on a vacation why would you pay Rs.4000 per room per night to live in a city. additionally you cant leave the premises after 7:00 pm because as the villagers said its awfully close to the wildlife so its not safe to roam in the dark.|Geysers were not working properly and the water ran out. |Heater they provided was also not working.|We asked for kettle at 1:00 pm and got it at 6:30 pm(Because they make money by providing hot water too). The kitchen is available inside the cottage but is not in usable condition so the food comes from 100 meters away and in 5-6 degrees the food gets cold before it reaches you. There is a fire place but the wood will cost you Rs.300 and the quantity is not specified ever.|Simple Yellow dal and chawal cost us Rs 800 for 4 people. Quantity was also so so.|The owner told us that the price is very economical and we should focus on enjoying and let him make money. He is not at all concerned about leaving a bad impression of Uttarakhand on the tourists.|Ranikhet is not worth visiting anymore because it's now heavily urbanised. so paying Rs.4000 per night per room is not at all feasible.

Best place to stay at Ranikhet, good location, nice view, fresh food. Property owners is nice person, and the service is great. Thanks Gopal for the nice food and service. I must recommend this place.

The cottage is pretty and well located, away and yet close to the town with a beautiful view. The caretaker is hospitable and really looks after you. He cooked great food and was always smiling and hospitable. However the property is not well maintained. It needs a thorough cleaning and airing. The sheets and towels, the floor and furnishings all need to be replaced. Luckily I had got my own towels but had to use the sheets. The duvet cover was also dirty snd itchy. All in all it was a good experience. I will recommend it to others - just get your own linen

The experience of our stay was beautiful and comfortable. The cottages are cozy and nicely done up. The owner Mr. Ashok Mehrotra was a great host and took care of all our request. The location is peaceful and mesmerizing. A perfect summer destination. Will definitely recommend.

Very nicely built cottages. Awesome view. Its not a typical hotel with a reception and intercom to rooms, rather a real estate with 10 different cottages property, managed by Mr Ashok Mehrotra, who is a very gentle and noble businessman. Because of him, we got a wonderful hospitality experience. Gopal is the main caretaker who is a chef cum overall service provider. He prepares very homely delicious food and ensures the convenience and comfort.
