Zostel Plus Nainital (Naina Range)

I stayed at Zostel Nainital (Naina Range) over the long weekend and had a great experience. The highlight was definitely the breathtaking view of the Himalayas right from my bed. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The staff was extremely friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable about nearby attractions. However, the trek to reach the property can be a bit challenging, and power availability was an issue at night as the generator is turned off. Despite these minor setbacks, it's a peaceful and scenic place to unwind. Would definitely recommend for nature lovers!

The place is great as it is situated in between the jungle. Great stay in case you don't have a tight schedule. You need to make adjustments in case you have a tight schedule as the electricity is generated through generator. The generator would start at around 7 a.m. and they close it at around 10 p.m. Hot water would not be available early morning before 7 a.m. You need to trek about 1 K.M. to reach Zostel Plus Nainital and the trek is not maintained in some places and is risky. Rest the view this place offers is amazing. Serene environment. Hospitable staff. Porter bhaiya is amazing. Food is good but very expensive.

Everything is great here except the 1km trek to property. I had very good time here. The food was great one can just come here for isolated stay. Just don't do anything and enjoy the property. Rest all good cheers

Hey everyone, just a heads-up about a bad experience. I had a booking from April 26-28 and got a call today (April 24) from the hotel manager telling me I must arrive before 7 PM -- otherwise, I'm on my own and he "won't be able to help." He even suggested I cancel my booking, knowing full well I wouldn't get a refund at this point. He told me to "read the rules properly," even though the website clearly advises arriving before 8 PM during summers. His explanation? "April isn't summer." I actually had to explain to him that yes, April is considered summer in India. Basic stuff. I've been a big fan of Zostels and have stayed at several over the years. But after this experience -- the rude attitude, the lack of accountability -- I won't be staying with them again.

My 4-day stay here was nothing short of rejuvenating, offering the peace and quiet I craved amidst nature. The highlight? A stunning view of the Himalayas from the room and balcony that will take your breath away. The property is nestled in the heart of a forest, living up to its nickname, "The Jungle Forest." The 15-20 minute trek from the entry point to the property is an experience in itself--a refreshing prelude to the stay. While the trek isn't overly challenging, first-timers might find it slightly demanding, so pack light and opt for a rucksack over trolley bags for convenience. Zostel Plus Nainital is impeccably maintained, with clean rooms and a warm, welcoming staff. Food is decent. Even though I traveled solo and the property being located in the middle of a jungle, I felt very safe. The common area is a lively space with games to enjoy, and the bonfires every evening create a cozy atmosphere perfect for connecting with fellow travelers. If you're into yoga or meditation, the tranquil surroundings offer an ideal setting to practice. Post-sunset, the community hall transforms into a vibrant hangout spot, making it easy to relax and socialize with other guests. A word of caution: since the property is deep in the forest, it's best to avoid venturing out after sunset. For animal lovers, Gabbar and Casper--the two adorable dogs on the property--are sure to steal your heart. They were my constant companions throughout my stay, adding an extra layer of warmth to the experience. If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend reading the property description thoroughly before booking to understand its unique charm. Zostel Plus Nainital offers a peaceful retreat where nature, comfort, and community blend seamlessly--just the escape you need!

The location is 10 if you just wanna have a staycation as its on the hill top and to reach there you have a 30-40 mins trek between the jungle which is dangerous. The path is very steep and narrow. Worst part you have to reach there before it gets dark like around 5pm as it's the fear of animals on the way. They must have made a good path or chose a location safer. Its very far from the actual city.The whole place runs on generator and after 10pm on inverter. There is no electricity between 4am and 8am. The place though is beautiful but has to be big nearer to the city. We have to leave the place with no refund and search for the new place as during evening we were unable to roam in the city and enjoy mall road at night.
