The Naini Retreat, Nainital

Our stay at the Naini Retreat Resort in Nainital was truly exceptional. The location is simply breathtaking, offering stunning views, and the heritage architecture of the resort is absolutely amazing. The hospitality we received was beyond our expectations - the staff's warmth and approachability were remarkable, and they consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The food was a highlight of our stay. The buffets were sumptuous, offering a wide variety of incredibly delicious dishes. Every meal was a delightful culinary experience. One of the most memorable experiences was spent enjoying the bonfire and live music. Even on a cold night, the atmosphere was incredibly cozy and enjoyable. The Holi celebration was another wonderful surprise, adding so much joy and fun to our trip. It was an unexpected and delightful experience. I wholeheartedly recommend the Naini Retreat Resort to anyone looking for a memorable and luxurious stay in Nainital. From the stunning location and heritage charm to the exceptional hospitality and delicious food, this resort offers an unforgettable experience.

Amazing location, hotel is very well mentioned. Run wonderfully. The dinning room, tea/bar is v lovely cozy. Enjoyed every meal and relaxed in the courtyard. The negativity is too many steps for seniors. Enjoyed our trip immensely.

Naini Retreat certainly carries the charm of an old heritage property, exuding a sense of history as you step onto its grounds. Its location, a bit further from the main road, offers a welcome tranquility, shielding guests from the hustle and bustle of Nainital's central area. However, this also means there is nothing much outside the hotel as such, requiring reliance on their services for venturing out.|One of the undeniable highlights of the Naini Retreat is the lovely view of the Naini Lake, particularly from the deck. While our garden-facing room didn't offer this vista, I can imagine the lake-view rooms being a significant draw. The hotel's provision of a shuttle drop and pickup service to the Naini Lake area is a commendable convenience, making access to the town relatively easy despite the slightly removed location.|Where the Naini Retreat truly shines is its culinary offerings. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very good, surprisingly better than what I've experienced at many five-star properties. The variety and quality of the food were impressive and a definite plus point. The inclusion of high tea and morning tea is also a nice touch. While the morning tea served on the deck was a pleasant experience, the high tea unfortunately fell below par.|However, the experience took a significant downturn when it came to the accommodation itself. The biggest letdown was the room. For the prices charged, the room was very small and felt cramped. It also lacked basic amenities that one would expect at this price point. The bathroom was equally small and in dire need of deep cleaning.|Overall, Naini Retreat feels very overpriced for the experience it offers. While the heritage charm, lake views (from certain vantage points), and excellent buffet meals are noteworthy, the underwhelming and undersized rooms, coupled with the lack of immediate surroundings, make it difficult to justify the cost. There are likely better hotels in Nainital available in this price range that offer more comfortable and well-appointed accommodations.

Everything about the hotel is excellent. We felt truly welcomed from the minute we were greeted by the front desk staff to check out. Restaurant crew, housekeeping crew and front desk staff were professional and courteous. Food was delicious. Thank you for making the stay memorable.

The property gets 5 stars for its view.|We have been staying here for years now, this time the only courteous staff member who was the best was Diksha arya. She makes the best teas. Your mornings will be made with a great view and a best cup of tea. The other staff is non bothered and least courteous with no respect and needs a lot of trying and work.|A guy at the reception was also nice and courteous so full marks for him as well.|The food needs some work too.

We had a very pleasant experience from the reception staff, house keeping staff as well as restaurant staff! Every single staff members are very helpful, courteous, and humble. Rooms and beds are comfortable. Restaurant has excellent food options for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed many varieties of foods including some regional cuisine items. I happened to meet the man in charge for the multiple locations of this hotel group, Mr C. Parihar. I must say he has trained his chefs and staff/waiters very well to serve his guests in the utmost possible manner! My personal salute to all the staff members whom we witnessed being constantly busy and running up and down the property!

Words are not enough to describe this beautiful place ...very old property , charming set up The rooms were immaculate, excellent south indian food in the breakfast buffet. Exotic collection of tea and the toiletries were simply wow. Service was excellent.
