The Hive Cottage

Writing this review at 1. AM. Came for 2 nights stay with family today. Lot of disturbing noise and hooliganism by few youngsters staying in the premises since last 3 hours. It continued despite requests and bringing it to the notice of Hotel Staff. No action. This very annoying and disturbing. Hotel Management need to be proactive enforce some basic decency in the premises. Would not like to come back again due to such nuisance!

An old British house very beautiful close to the centre of Nainital. The rooms were clean and cozy but cold. Thankfully they had heaters. It's a bit difficult to approach by car and it's better if you first make a call to give you directions. Regarding the payment they didn't accept throughout booking.com, they accept only cash. The view is amazing and I recommend the place.

Had an amazing stay at Hive Cottage with my family. The service was top notch, the cottage was spacious and comfortable too. The food served was tasty and filling. Highly recommended!

Quite and peaceful cottage. Located off the mall road 20 mins walk to main mall road. The breakfast is good and the room is spacious and has hot water 24 hours. The view is of the hills and morning are very pretty here. However if you have a driver with you, there are no arrangements for the drivers.

It's a peaceful and quiet cottage type hotel with a very serene atmosphere. They have totally 8 rooms which are quite well maintained with clean & cozy rooms and spacious bathroom having 24 hours hot water. We stayed here for 4 nights and were provided with room heaters also as the weather was cold (8/9 degrees) during the night. ||The hotel is managed/maintained by a staff of around 10 people headed by the Manager Mr. Mahesh who is extremely warm and welcoming. The whole staff is quite polite, co-operative and accommodating. The service and food is top notch. The chefs prepare delicious Kumaoni food which has to be ordered 1 day before. The complimentary breakfast is tasty and wholesome. ||The property is around 1 km from the Mall road and getting down is easy but one has to cab it up on returning as the climb is little steep. The hotel will give you the contact number of taxi driver Mr. Ratanlal who is very friendly and helpful. His charges are less than other taxis in the market and is an excellent guide also if one wants to do sight-seeing around Nainital.||There is a car park for around 5 to 6 cars in the property. They also have an open sitting area in the cottage and the staff will also arrange for a bonfire if needed. ||Also I would specifically like to mention that I had planned a trip to The Hive Cottage in May 2023 with my family and also paid them an advance of Rs.26,000/- but unfortunately due to my mother's ill heath I had to cancel my trip. I had mailed them about the cancellation and was told that the advance amount will be adjusted when I visit this place in the near future. Now after 2 years I thought that they might adjust maybe half the advance against my stay but to my surprise when I was settling my bill for my 4 days stay, I was given a refund of the entire amount of Rs.26,000/- by the manager Mr. Mahesh which is really a thoughtful and touching gesture. Hotels in India rarely refund any money. But hats off to The Hive Cottage. ||I definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Nainital. Whenever I visit Nainital again it will be The Hive Cottage only.

I had a wonderful and pleasant stay at this charming Hive cottage. The rooms are very big and offer a beautiful view, the management was extremely helpful . The staff were all polite and attentive, making my experience enjoyable. ||The best part is the lactation & view from the hotel. the food was great . i will definitely visit again.

Locations is slightly off with nice seating area but steep climb from Mall Road. Very good food. Rooms could be better maintained.

Staying at the Hive was the biggest disappointment . I was there with my old parents for a spiritual Darshan . It was the worse experience as the staff there was rude when they said it's done online and nothing can be done . They have is a bad room and not at all hospitable . They changed the room but just the place , cleanliness , food wasn't worth it and beyond that their non challant attitude. Avoid this hotel at any cost in Nainital .
