Hotel Shivraj | Best Lake View Hotel Near Mall Road | Nainital

No doubt the location of the Hotel is great and especially at this price. But I am sure you would be looking more than just a good location to enjoy your holidays with family and friends. I travelled with my family which included elderly people and stayed here for 3 nights.||||Let me share some of the Pros and Cons of this hotel with some examples.||||Pros:||1. Great Location - at the heart of Mall Road with a lot of food options nearby.||2. Good view of Naini Lake from the rooms and balcony as well as common sitting areas.||||Cons||1. Zero room service - bad room service is different but here they have ZERO room service. We kept on requesting for room cleaning since 8.00 am until someone came at 11.45 am. Same condition if you need anything like water, tea etc.||2. Extremely manipulative manager and staff. They are very sweet over the phone but if you have a complaint or concern to share, their standard reply is to check out and find a better hotel. Can you believe it?||3. They did not provide us the rooms they promised and provided us a room of lower category at a higher price. The person would just say that this is what was discussed and you may choose not to check out next day if you don't agree with them.||4. No intercom or phone number for room service is provided. Depending on the floor you are on, you must climb up and down 50 to 100 stairs (multiple times) if you need ANYTHING.||5. Geyser facility is strictly from 7.00 am till 11.00 am. We departed from Delhi and reached Nainital in the afternoon. The water was extremely cold for my 3 year old kid and parents (senior citizens aged 76 and 68 yrs old). Although we requested (almost begged) to put on the geyser for 10 mins for the kids and old people to freshn up.. they did not agree. Neither do they provide an Electric kettle in the room.||||This kind of behavior is not expected or professional conduct. If you are crazy about a location at a reasonable price but unwilling to SPOIL your stay and vacation at this hotel, please think many times over.

The hotel has good location but it's just a basic hotel. Blanket was dirty when we walked in with food stains. Room was not dusted properly. No heater in room ( need to pay extra ) small room , no car parking available so need to park in common car parking area.

Negative - Rooms are small according to tariff. Blankets and mattress, furniture not maintained. I think owner must be update the hotel through paint and some maintainace of furniture. Washroom pot and wash washer was damaged some of point Positive - Room and balcony view are memorable trip to us. Staff was polite and caretaking. I do early check in. Mr. Rohit help me to without extra pay of early check in the room.

Hotels was too good to stay only one thing to look out the cleaning rooms was not that much clean and there was no room heater kindly provide as it required very much.

Worst experience I've ever had. They charge 4000 and their services are 0. Rooms are very small , so that washroom. Their buffet have only 2 options poha and paratha. They gave nutrilite butter to eat and if u want a cup of coffee then u have to pay extra for that. Taste of food is zero. No heaters in the room that making us uncomfortable at night. If u planning to stay in this hotel stay in ur car rather than this

The location is awesome. The property is old but very well arranged and decorated. Only drawback I have noticed that you have to take stair to reach to your room. Food is awesome, staff is very good in terms of providing service to customers. Receptionist Himanshu is generous and smart fellow. Another member Rahul is a very warm hearted person, while I was waiting for my friends at the reception late in night, Rahul offers momos to me fromhis own plate, had an excellent time with them talking about Nanital and it's fair tales.

I had an extremely disturbing experience at this hotel. Late at night, the hotel staff started calling my family members with inappropriate messages, saying things like, 'I'm missing you.' This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. A hotel should prioritize its guests' privacy and safety, not harass them or their families with bizarre, unwanted calls. I would strongly advise against staying here unless serious changes are made to the staff's conduct."

Great location on mall road many rooms are lake facing, I just have a look from the outside but I stayed in another hotel so cannot provide any detailed input, but this is located on mall road.
