I stayed with my family in April and had a truly pleasant experience. The stay was excellent, with outstanding food and services. I had forgotten my charger, and they thoughtfully took the initiative to post it to my home. I'm very grateful for their exceptional hospitality and service
Welcome to Paradise
Surrounded by rich flora and fauna of the Himalayas, at the heart of what is known as the lake district of Uttarakhand in Northern India, lies the quaint town, Nainital. Perched above Nainital's busy bazaars of today, amidst the thick Deodar forest and adjoining the famous Raj Bhawan Golf Course, lies Bhikampur Lodge. The Lodge was originally built by a British resident in the late 19th century and was subsequently acquired by the Nawab of Bhikampur, Rehmatullah Khan Sherwani. This summer house of the erstwhile Nawab exudes an unmistakable aura of a bygone regal era. Come appreciate the joys of fine holidaying at this resplendent and restful locale.

If you're traveling in a group and want to enjoy a commercial hill station--soaking in both the scenic charm and the vibrant hustle and bustle--this is the perfect place to stay. It offers the best of both worlds: tucked away from the crowds yet right in the heart of the city. A lovely place with fantastic staff and delicious, customized food.
One of the most posh hotels at Nainital. The rooms are excellent, the ambienve is unparalleled. Food is good. Ground level staffs are polite and helpful. Now comes the million dollar question.... Why on the earth have I given 2 stars for service and cut down overall rating by a star? That's because of the management's policy to maximise profit by some method which is somewhat questionable. We had our bookings for 3 most priciest rooms for 10th and 11th April. The bookings were done long back by our agent as we had a long tour of the Kumaon circuit.... From Jim Corbett to Biinsar, Munsiyari to Nainital. Our group of six people also had senior citizens and thus we should have allotted rooms together at ground floor. However, due to some unforseen circumstances we had to stay at Munsiyari for one more day and our tour got extended for another day. The delay costed us a lot including air fair but that's another story. When our agent contacted Bhikampur Lodge intimating the extension, it was intimated that: 1. All the rooms are booked on 11th due to tourist rush during the long weekend and holiday - it was understandable. 2. They will not refund our booking money for 10th - also understandable for room charges, although we were surprised that our bookings included breakfast so they charhed us for the food we never ate. The drama started when we reached at Bhikampur Lodge on 11th after enduring a 14 hour journey from Munsiary and horrible traffic jams before entering Nainital. We were offered different rooms at different floors (only one room at ground floor). When confronted about such room allotment we were at first intimated that one of our ground floor rooms had water relatwd problem. So I said that the room should be vacant, but it was informed that the room had been allocated to another party. SO IT WAS ALL A LIE. HOW CAN YOU ALLOT A ROOM WITHE WATER PROBLEMS TO ANOTHER PARTY!!!! Then came the shock, the manager admitted that the room 101 and 102 were allotted to a party who was their old customers!!!!!! Secondly, when we argued how they could give our rooms to another party, the Manager blatantly lied that they have staying there since the day before, Alas, the guest log book showed that party staying at Rooms 101 and 102 checked in on the same day, i.e. on 11th!!! It was clear that they simply sold the better rooms to another party either for higher charges or simply giving them undue preferenece (we have also paid the full charge). Considering our situation and the fact that they had 4 signature rooms at ground floor and sinve we jad booked long ago, 3 ground floor rooms among 4 should have been earmarked for us, we refused to accept the allotments. We were totally exhausted and our aenior citizen member fell ill, it was almost 1 hour past we report for check in. After a long confrontation, the Manager moved one family from ground floor room 102 to first floor. And we we given 1 room at the first floor, one.room at the front of the gound floor and another one at the backside of ground floor.....3 rooms at 3 different locations!!!! Obviously, we were forced to accept as it was way late at the night. We were also on call withe our agent, and they intimated us that Bhikampur has switched our rooms without their consent and also without ours..... What a shame for a posh establishment...... If hou charge premium then your behaviour and business attitude should be premium. If you are professional enough to charge/not refund us for the food we never had the scope to eat then you should also be that much professional and fair about your business policies. Overall it was a once in a lifetime experience for us (in an unfortunate way).
I recently visited this property.. the property is good but it's uphill n away from Mall Road also the rooms I got were v smelly it had weird kind of bad smell .. it felt as if sleeping near a public toilet. The water supply wasn't regular n pressure in taps were almost nil.. so had a tough time taking a bath. The rooms heater were broken. The staff including Rahul ji were good but the manager wasn't . He was rude while v complaint also. So I would suggest to stay away from this property if u want a pleasant stay..!
Lovely quaint little place uphill from where you can see a bit of the lake. The kitchen night shift manager Bablu was simply brilliant catering to our needs and is a wonderful artist too. Make sure you ask him to do a potrait when you visit. The only thing we did not like is that the hotel doesn't entertain phone calls asking for directions to the place. Who would customers call if they are stuck and cannot find the place. It is a pretty absurd rule and hence not a place that anyone would recommend. The rooms are ok and try to give you a rustic view but it was around 3-4degC when we got there, so just needed a heater which did a brilliant job. The room heater as well as Blanket Warmers were a life saver.
Excellent place who wants to stay away from hustle bustle of mall road & wants spacious rooms with excellent services. You can reach to the location from parking lot near Masjid by walk of 15 minutes depending on your fitness. Food choices are limited that's the downside of you consider but for property with 11 rooms only its worth ignoring.
Hotel is immensed on higher price side and they are claiming top 5 hotels in Nainital, however it was a very bad stay there due to higher side on price and quality of hotel is like a 3 star property. Food is not up to the mark and rooms are not as usual good as per the policy of a 4 star hotel.
I stayed here for two night. The staff was quite polite and made us feel very comfortable. It's a peaceful place. Rooms were good & spacious. Food was also good & the hospitality i got impressed me a lot. Honestly, when ever next we plan for Nainital, I would like to stay here only.
