Tehri Lake Eco Huts

It is part of GMVN resort. Eco rooms are spacious but costly. Good for family. Staff is very helpful. Dam and valley view is nice near rooms. Bit electricity problem is there.

We visited the property in April 2025. The price was INR 5300.00, and believe me it is way too high for the facilities provided. Bad fouling smell in the rooms, water taps not working in the washroom, dirty sofas, stinky blankets, and what not. No staff available at night. The only good thing is location. The price is almost similar to Le Roi hotel. It's better to stay in a hotel than in the GMVN Eco huts.

I stayed here for two nights and the I loved the experience. The location is truly one of a kind overlooking the beautiful water catchment area of Tehri Dam. The wooden huts have all the amenities and the service is very prompt. The food is also tasteful and priced well. They can improve upon the quality of bedding but otherwise it's wonderful.

Two things that make this place desirable are: 1. Location (all huts facing the lake with 2 minutes walk to the lake) 2. Layout of the huts Apart from that, this place is in an urgent need of renovation and upgrade. When we entered the assigned cottage, it was full of honey bees. We had to get the staff to remove those but still ended up doing it ourselves once they left. While clearing the honey bees, the staff happened to dust the doormat and a cloud of dust came out of it. Talks volumes of the upkeep there. The sofa covers have dirty patches and look ugly. Many of the items in their menu are missing and food itself is quite average. So unless your requirement is location only, won't recommend this place at all.

The concept of eco huts is excellent. It is spacious, well furnished and gives you a private space. The location is picturesque and relaxing. The service is average but despite being govt property, nature of staff is cooperative. The quality of food is good. The water sports are very overpriced and their staff is not professional. There are no easy local options to travel, you have to keep your own car or taxi..No nearby marketplaces. I would suggest only single day tour is enough.

It is a government owned hotel with less availability of resources. However, it has an amazing view of the lake. You may stay here only if there is pleasant weather else you will regret staying at this property.

The location is awesome.But the maintenance of the huts is poor. The wooden flooring just outside the bathroom is completely damaged and they have filled it with big stones and places a carpet over it. It can cause serious fall, specially in case of senior citizens and young children. In case of accommodation for the 3rd person, the manager avoids to give a proper receipt for the extra charge, but one needs to be adamant for it, or it goes in their pocket. I will definitely recommend this place for an awesome stay. The water rides are about 1.5kms away from here, for which u need ur vehicle. I loved every moment staying here. The Tehri festival which is held here is very close by.

This is a state govt property of gmvn , location wise it is a prime location in tehri just a few mtr from Lake (water sports) .Other huts u will find are of le roi they are 16 km away from this this is near Dam .Now comes the bad thing is there food and service and the guy in reception they all are working like government employees gmvn should look upon these people . One thing I notice is that you never tell them that you are local then they don't give you the same value it is a habit of garhwali people. food quantity is also very less so order accordingly veg food was average and non veg totally pathetic. I am reviewing on the basis of price because it is a little pricey so service should be good .
