The Himalayan Deodar

Our stay at The Himalayan Deodar was fantastic. It's a lovely location with lovely views atop a hill. The Himalayan peaks are visible on a clear day. Since we were traveling with a baby and parents, our host, Inder ji, took excellent care of us. He made us feel at home and complied with all of our requests. Also lovely is the 700-meter natural trail that leads to this property. The food was also excellent. Anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet, and natural setting should definitely check out this place, in my opinion. This is not a typical tourist destination. This is a pristine place, apt for the people looking for a soulful quietude and connection with nature and the indigenous culture while munching some delicious food and tea.

It starts with a scenic 700-metre natural trek that leads you to the hilltop, where the hotel is located. As you arrive, the first thing you'll notice is the peaceful silence--away from the noise and hustle of the city. It's a perfect place to unwind, immerse yourself in nature, sit back, and truly relax. The staff are friendly and always ready to help, and the quality of food is amazing--fresh and delicious. For an additional charge, you can enjoy a barbecue and bonfire experience, which adds to the charm. It truly feels like a home away from home. Just a heads-up: the stay might not be ideal for elderly people or very young children due to the trek involved in reaching the property.

We had a memorable stay at this beautiful hotel. Food is fabulous: homemade, clean, organic and delicious. Staff is courteous, ready to help at any clock hour. Special mention: Pahadi chicken and buransh drink. A must have. Keeping location in mind, guests should be mindful of water and electricity usage. There is no scarcity in hotel but it takes a lot of effort to bring everything around. This place is bit offbeat, take that uphill 700mtr trek seriously. But once you reach this hotel, you will love the peace and view around.

Such an amazing place at a truly beautiful location! The surroundings are stunning, and the property itself is incredibly well-kept and welcoming. Just spend 4 days at the Himalayan Deodar and it was nothing short of incredible. Perfect stay to unwind and relax. The view is to die for. All this is possible by a kilometer long trek. Your luggage will be carried by a mule. It's a solid 20 min trek to reach this incredible stay. We stayed at their premium couple room on the first floor. Rooms are cosy and tastefully done. You can watch the sunrise from the balcony. On a clear day you can see snow peaks - Gangotri, Swargarohini, Satopanth, Yamunotri and others from there. We were lucky to see it on our third day there, as it was hazy one day and raining the other day. It was so peaceful and quiet there. We did the forest trek.. since it was the month of April the forest was filled with Rhododendron flowers.. The stay ..the food.. everything was amazing. Try the bonfire one night.. it's a must

This property is located at an amazing height in the mountains with a view of the Himalayas unlike most other properties in Kanatal. It also offers an amazing view of the Deodar Forest Valley that it overlooks. The staff here is very helpful and the rooms are also very clean and with all the latest equipment. The food is very delicious and the Dal Tadka is a must-try here. The owner, Mr. Inder guided us through a wonderful hike in the Deodar Forest amid dense forest cover. Overall 10/10 for everything - staff, property location, rooms and food.
