Hotel Kanta

Hotel is located in main road and it is very easy to locate the bus stand from the location. Also the staff is very polite and helpful. The best thing about the hotel is its food which is simple but very tasty like home and also comes under budget. Overall the hotel is suitable to stay with family.

It was an overnight stay near the Railway station and I had a quick look before accepting the keys. The hotel is within walking distance (1.8 km) from the nearest railway station and many local transport options are available for commuting. Car parking is a challenge since the hotel has no dedicated parking space.

The hotel is good but there is no duplicate key if you locked yourself out. Also, the service is not so good . The rates are quite high or the rooms are expensive. The environment outside is not that pleasant which other hotel might have. If you want to travel in a place full of mountain-ny type environment then its not the place.. it has market around it which the locals use for buying but going further that place you will get fancy shops like pantaloons, KFC, Domino's, adidas, etc.. better search for another hotel in that locality. I had to attend a ceremony in Haldwani on 28th Nov. I searched for pet friendly hotel on Google and this hotel came up in results on several booking portals. I got into touch with the hotel's reservation executive on +919837077352 in early November and he promised me 2 rooms with an extra bedding in one. Also, I clarified if the hotel allows pets or not. The executive responded in positive. (I have all the call recordings)||||Yesterday on , I called him to confirm my booking. He asked me to pay through PhonePe. I told him to send me a mail sharing reservation details and bank account details. He said he will confirm it from the hotel's MD. I had to wait for several hours with no response from him. On calling him again, he said that he has sent the details on my WhatsApp number (which I did not provide him). He told me pet shall not be allowed (Though the booking portals clear mentions it).||||Imagine, I would have to run pillar to post to find a pet friendly hotel in Haldwani, upon reaching there, just because of this hotel's callous attitude.||||I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, I shall be putting this forward to HRACC and FHRAI.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We reached late at night and booked over the phone. There was some kind of misunderstanding (maybe the fault was ours), and we were extremely irritated when we checked in.||||However, in the next three days, the staff just won us over. They are a very no frills hotel but with an amazing attitude and hospitable staff.
