The only good thing about the guest house was the host- a retired army uncle who was very polite and nice. Apart from that the guest house is really in a bad shape. smell of leakage, not cleaned and maintained properly. the house keeping boy lso is extremely lazy and doesn't care if things are not running smooth. Also there is no provision of food in the property. you will have to drive down towards the dehradun town to find something to eat. all in all not a very great place to stay in that price. there are other properties in the surrounding areas with much cheaper price and better facilities

This guest house is located in very peaceful and beautiful place connected with Malls and other tourist attraction. You feel like you are staying at your home . Staff is very nice and cooperative .||but this property need some improvement in their facilities . As blanket we got has some smell of fungus may be because of rain but when we requested they have changed it for us. So overall good experience ,Just need little improvement .

First, the owners and managers were very nice. But, the place is pretty rough. We chose it because it is a good location, but I wouldn't stay here again for free. The beds didn't have mattresses, just a thin piece of foam. The sheets are stained and dirty. The room had a lot of bugs and there were large openings leading outside. Sadly, if they would just do some small remodeling, they could have a great place and charge much more.

It's sad to say this because the manager of this hotel is possibly the nicest and most sincere person I've met in India but I need to be honest, with a genuine wish for the owner Nitish to spend a little money and improve the property! I have been travelling regularly in India for 15 years and have definitely stayed in worse hotels but also paid only a quarter of the price, literally! Sadly the owner is an accountant and quite greedy as I sent many emails before my trip informing I was part of a large group of Buddhist new to Dehradun to visit His Holiness Sakya Trizin at the Sakya Centre. The location of this hotel is great as it's just up the road but owner increased prices when I sent him last year's groups price list. Not only that, he asked for full payment in advance and then refused a refund when I informed how unhappy I was with condition of property. Basically the mattress, pillow, sheets blankets and even curtains stunk as if nothing had been cleaned in years. Luckily it was very hot so I didn't need the blankets but when opening cupboard you could instantly smell them and needed to close straight away. There was the typical mould and dirt build up in bathrooms that I'm accustomed to but usually take my own cleaning products to tackle that. But it was the smells coming from the actual hard and old mattresses that caused the sleepless nights and the pillow was literally black with mould (Pictures to follow). As I'm kind of in charge of finding suitable hotels and informing the centre back in France, this place just wouldn't do for the large amounts of people coming over the next few years so I started my search and found plenty of alternatives including a very sweet guest house directly across the road for the Sakya Centre which I managed to get 8 of my friends into after cancelling their bookings here and the Shree Lakshmi. Luckily the others didn't pay up front so they left after just one or two nights. So, doing the right thing I rang the owner and asked to speak to him and show him my concerns considering how many people would be coming from our group and he was very open and willing, especially making effort to fix the wifi which didn't reach my bedroom and had problems the entire stay. He did however instantly blame the manager and yell at him which indicated to me this wasn't going to change. Then Nitish's father came and did the same thing, telling off the manager as if to blame him that it was his fault. The problems staying at this hotel was not a management issue, it was clearly a lack of interest spending money in order to maintain a certain quality. Interestingly I met a friend at the centre who came to my room having stayed at the hotel 5 years earlier and said literally everything was exactly the same and he had then complained about the smelly mattress. So the last and most important part to this review is at the end of my forced stay, I asked for the discount which Sakya Centre manager said he had negotiated with the owner which was in effect of 20% for stays over 2 weeks but sadly Nitish refused this discount knowing we came there on the Sakya Centres recommendation. I also asked for a discount having to pay and extra 950 rupees for my own Internet due to problems with wifi router but again he refused. Lastly, asked why I had to pay a top price of 1,365 rupees per night for over 2 weeks when pre arranged 2 weeks earlier assuming he was giving a great deal considering large volume of European students visiting but then to find you can get the same room for only 900 rupees on the clear trip app even for just a single night. I am still here in Dehradun up the road paying 800 a night for something 200 % better and I've been here 3 times since September. My friends are either here or scattered around at 5 different hotels. I hope Nitish reads this and will help improve because it's a good area and with a great manager he has there, just spending a bit to improve and then maintain could bring back so much business for them. Thanks

The property is easily accessible to airport and station. It had homely atmosphere, courteous staff, tasty food, and hygienic facilities. Rooms were spacious and clean.||||Location very close to the market as well. All in all...a value for money!!

Hotel staff is very good! They are humble, and they are always ready to service you at any moments notice. However, their service is crippled by the management - which is apathetic, and stingy!!! Instead of sofa in your room, expect too see a couple of plastic chairs, bedsheets are not changed daily, towels ditto! You ask the staff, they will say, they do not have enough stock of them, all the soiled ones are with the washerman! the AC does not work! Wifi does not work!

Though the hotel is placed at one of the best locations , just at the foothills of great mountains but it is not maintained up to the expectations. Services are terrible, remote for TV not working, old model TV. Telephone was not working at times, personally you had to move to reception for any service. The most annoying fact was that towels were not clean and were smelling. Food had be ordered from outside which is also priced high while quality is very poor.
