SaffronStays Edelweiss Estate: Bluebell House in Ranikhet

I had a great experience staying at this property. The property is better than its pictures, very clean and well maintained. The staff is really nice and accommodating, the food was really great and the chef was very sweet and made nice things on our requests. Only thing to look out for is this is in Ranikhet which is an army area and there is no restaurant or activity nearby. You will have to drive 2 hours minimum to get to a cafe. Also the property has a lot of monkeys and they keep showing up on your outdoor spaces and destroying things so it gets hard to sit out and enjoy the view.

New Year's turned into a nightmare! We stayed at this cottage for four nights, and on January 1st, my wife fell severely ill from food poisoning after eating here, which led to her hospitalization. Unfortunately, the situation only worsened. I continued ordering home-cooked meals for my children, and they too fell sick with the same illness. Although the villas are equipped with a kitchenette, food is not prepared on-site, raising significant concerns about the quality, ingredients, and food safety standards. Having stayed at several cottages across Uttarakhand, this is the first time we've encountered such an issue. When we reported it to the management, they dismissed our concerns, attributing the illness to the cold weather. However, this explanation didn't hold, as we had arrived from Gurgaon, where the temperatures were even lower. Aside from the food problem, there's little to recommend about this place. While the views are pleasant, there is virtually no space for even a short walk outside. Cleanliness also falls short of expectations. Overall, I would not recommend this property.
