Mulberry House, Kasar

I and my partner chose Mulberry House for our 4 night stay in Kasar. And we were pleasantly surprised by their hospitality. The staff is extremely caring, warm and always at service. On all days, we had food from their in-house kitchen which was not only very reasonably priced but also, cooked to perfection each time. Less oily, homely food with a large number of options to choose from. The first 2 nights we had incessant rainfall and the staff still managed to bring our dinner or breakfast on time without any issues. Appreciate their efforts. Our cottage was private and comfortable, full with all basic amenities. Very clean, premium linen on bed and was worth every penny we paid. The host, Mr Vikram Bakshi, is also very polite and responsive at all times. This place truly reflects his vision of providing an experience of luxury home stay in the mountains. Left the place wanting to come back!

We had an unforgettable stay at this luxurious home stay! The breathtaking view from our room left us speechless, creating a picturesque backdrop for a perfect getaway. The attention to detail at Mulberry House was impeccable - from the cozy decor to the thoughtful amenities, it's evident that every aspect has been carefully curated. However, what sets this home stay apart is the exceptional owner. His warmth and dedication to ensuring our comfort made our stay remarkable. Vikram's passion for hospitality shines through, creating an atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay seamless, offering local insights and ensuring we had everything we needed. We felt like cherished guests throughout our stay, and the memories created here will be cherished for a lifetime. This home stay truly exemplifies the essence of a perfect getaway, leaving us with a desire to return soon. Five stars don't seem enough to capture the excellence of this experience!

Very nice place. Old house built from the english. The owner is doing very well in decorating the rooms.||The few is great in the morning by sunrise, because the property is facing east on the hillside.|The food is very tasty and homemade.|You have to walk there from the road, no car is going there.|If you come per taxi, make sure to organice a room outside for your driver.

Our stay at the property was very well managed by Vikram and his team at Mulberry house. They made sure to go out of their way in ensuring a comfortable stay for us - by helping us with cab booking and planning our visits to nearby areas. The property is situated in a quaint part of Kasar, the room was tidy and service was quick. The food could have been better but the hospitality was top notch. The best part of the property for us though was this point barely 200 metres from the room, which gave a panoramic view of the mountain peaks including Mt. Nanda Devi. If you happen to visit, do not miss going here at Sunrise.

Although I didn't book it, but my lovely partner did manage the booking I still choose to write this review based on my entire experience of the stay. First it is amazing to stay in a 100 year old house and this house has suprises all around its corner. We traveled 12 hours from Delhi to Mulberry House, need to use gostops kasar devi as a landmark on Google maps. The boys came in to recieve us on a rainy evening and luggages upto the room. Believe me when I say this, this help had really gave us the relief for the next adventure we were on: i.e. 5-7 minutes trek to the room. We got a secluded house/room with all the mordern amenities and basic ones for chilly days. The boys as Vikram our host calls them has 2 guys in the team like Vinod with whom we had the most interaction with. They worked tirelessly to provide us with everything that we needed for our stay even in this rainy weather including umbrellas for our entire stay in Kasar Devi as comfortable as possible. They always kept ultra clean trays for food with all the necessary items that you would need. Bottles of mineral water was provided during our 4 day long stay. Food was exquisite, hats off to the chef working his/her magic into the food. Vikram had selected these amazing people to manage this property shows how particular he is. That just won my heart and my OCD . There are 2 dogs in the property one is very naughty so usually he is in the room while when its time for him to be out we were always informed about the same. Well, coming to my story: We were here to visit Kasar Devi for a very private and spiritual event which was successfully concluded and in this journey Mulberry house played a significant role. This place has secured a special place in our lives forever. While we were leaving at 6am in the morning, Vikram made sure to meet us before we left. This kind of service attitude makes this place special and unique. And remember that suprise? Well visit this place and make sure you have met Vikram.

Nestled among the picturesque mountains, this 100 year old kumaoni retreat is breathtaking. The interiors are tasteful with vintage fittings. The food was amazing. You can relish regional food with a beautiful view. The staffs were humble and polite and they catered to our every need. I totally recommend staying here if you want Experince authentic heritage and culture of the mountains.

Pros : 1.The owner Mr. Vikram Bakshi has a charming personality & staffs specially Mr. Vinod are cordial & punctual. 2. The place is serene & calm specially suitable for those seeking solitude. Specially the sunrise view from room. Cons: 1. Property is 500 metre from main road . So difficult while carrying luggages & specially returning to property at night. 2. It's basically a homestay with few vintage furnitures but very minimalistic interior. Lacks basic amenity like Fan. Illumination is poor giving the room a gloomy appearance . Not worth considering the tariff I had paid. (6000/night). 3. Since it's more like a home stay the food menu lacks variety . Quality & taste very average.

It's a quaint 100 year old cottage that has been tastefully restored by the host, Vikram Bakshi. The stay was most comfortable and the staff were very polite and hospitable. The stay at Mulberry House exceeded our expectations and we would love to stay there again when we are in the area. Highly recommended to other travellers.
