Treehouse, Chaukhamba Estate

We found Treehousealmora on Instagram and it was a great find indeed!||The booking process was quick, transparent and considerate. After my first conversation with the hosts - Ruchi and Sid, there was a certain level of comfort and trust that developed, after which we just outlined our requirements of a family holiday with our family members travelling from Jaipur, Bangalore and Delhi NCR to get together and Ruchi took care help arrange the Taxi transfers from Kathgodam to Almora and to book us in some of the best rooms on the property that gave us adequate comfort, space and privacy to enjoy as a family group! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the Bathrooms sparkling.|Our 4 day stay was made memorable thanks to the efforts of the hosts - Ruchi and Sid who took great care to ensure that the food was delicious for us Adults as well as the accompanying child. The desserts prepared by Sid deserve a special mention - the Makhane aur Khajur ki Kheer, the Shahi Tukda were exceptional. Ruchi also served us Waffles on the Breakfast Menu. ||The hosts also advised us on local sightseeing options and we took their advice to balance our stay with some time to enjoy the property. So we spent a day just lazing around the property and enjoying the environment and closeness to nature. We spotted some beautiful Birds and the hosts also escorted us for an enjoyable walk across their private forest and their Heritage home which is more than 100yrs old. We walked to the natural quifer (Naula) near the property and tasted the true natural Mineral water which was a new experience for us!||One of the highlights of our stay was the Pizza evening where the hosts prepared professional level Pizzas from fresh organic ingredients and they were extremely tasteful and the entire experience was fun filled for all of us!||Overall, I have to say that the hosts manage their homestay Guest experience in a thoroughly professional manner, attention to detail and with happiness! We hope to return in another season perhaps Winter to enjoy a different perspective of this wonderful homestay experience! Wishing all the best to Treehousealmora!

This hidden gem in the hills of Almora exceeded our expectations in every way.||||*Exceptional Service:* The staff at Treehouse Almora were warm, welcoming, and attentive to our every need. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect.||||*Stunning Suite with a View:* Our suite was impeccably designed, with a large window offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. It was the perfect spot to watch the sunrise and see the hills come alive in the night with beautiful lights twinkling in distance.||||*Yummy Food:* The food at Treehouse Almora was absolutely delicious! The hosts Rich & Sid whipped up mouth-watering dishes that catered to our every craving. The New Year's Eve dinner was a particular highlight, with a live BBQ and Ruchi herself on the grill and a sumptuous spread that left us all impressed.||||*Excellent Host:* The beautiful host Ruchi & Sid were an absolute delight, ensuring that every guest felt welcome and included in the celebrations. We had an awesome stay at the property with friends. The hosts Ruchi and Sid made our stay very comfortable by going out of the way for everything that we needed. Sid makes amazing desserts while Ruchi bakes cakes. The dining and entertainment area is the best place of the property on the terrace. The food is homemade and delicious as per our requirements. Thank you for the stay will definitely visit again.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Staying at Tree House Almora in June 2024 was hands down one of the best experiences of my life. I've been on a ton of trips, stayed at countless Airbnbs, and met plenty of hosts, but nobody comes even remotely close to Sid and Ruchi. These two are absolute gems and the only reason this trip was so unforgettable. They don't just host you, they make you feel like family. Seriously, they're the kind of people who make you want to plan your entire trip just to spend time with them again.||And as if Sid and Ruchi weren't enough, there's Rajjo (aka Rajeshwari), the friendliest, cutest, and most adorable dog ever! She was the cherry on top of an already amazing experience. She'll melt your heart in seconds, and honestly, I think she might've been the real star of the show.||The food? Delicious. The rooms? Spotless and cozy. The service? Top-notch. Everything was perfect, not in that sterile "hotel perfect" way, but in a warm, homely way that makes you feel truly cared for.||Whether you're traveling solo, with family, friends, or as a couple, you HAVE to experience this place at least once. It's not just a stay; it's a vibe, a memory, and honestly, something I'd love to make an annual tradition. Almora is beautiful, but I'd come back just for Sid, Ruchi, and of course, Rajjo. ||Amazing trip, amazing hosts, amazing dog - what more could you want?

The Treehouse ofers the most beautiful and peaceful stay that I've ever visited . From hospitality to location, cleanliness, space, and view from the terrace, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, food and the most welcoming and helpful hosts! ||Ruchi and Sid leaves no stone unturned when it comes making you feel home :) ||Not to miss their in-house baked cakes and Pizza evenings!

Ah, what an exceptional way to spend New Year's Eve--being lectured on parenting by the self-appointed guardian of manners at the resort! Let's start with the positives: the food was delicious, and Sid, the owner, was warm, welcoming, and genuine. Unfortunately, all of his efforts were overshadowed by his partner, whose rudeness and inflated ego ensured that no guest left without a bitter aftertaste.||||The resort might as well put up a sign: "Strictly for Disciplined Adults--Children Not Allowed to Be Children." We had the audacity to assume that minor accidents could be met with understanding, especially in a supposedly family-friendly environment. But when our 3-year-old accidentally toppled the Christmas tree placed right in center of roof, we were met not with kindness or patience, but with an immediate fine, cold messages, and disdainful remarks. Apparently, this was an unforgivable crime in her eyes.||||And let's not forget her behavior towards the other children--six-year-olds, no less--who were politely trying to gather the fallen decorations. Instead of gratitude, they were reprimanded for their efforts. Nothing screams "welcoming hospitality" like being rude to children for trying to help!||||The property itself is another story. No helpers for large groups, no railings around staircases (because safety is clearly overrated), and owners running around visibly frustrated. ||||What really stole the show, though, was her refusal to meet us after the incident, even after we called to apologize and offered to pay for the damage. My husband and I skipped dinner, hoping she might approach us to resolve things, but of course, her ego was far more important. The cherry on top? She didn't even bother saying goodbye when we left. Such hospitality--it's truly unforgettable (and not in a good way).||||To sum up, if you're a family with kids, do yourself a favor: skip this place. Unless, of course, you're dying to have your parenting questioned, your kids scolded, and your holidays ruined. For everyone else, the food and Sid might be worth it--but proceed with caution around his partner. Disappointment guaranteed!
