KMVN Rest House

I have stayed there in last week of March,2025. I am very much satisfied with their room which are very spacious & bathroom are very big & clean. Through a big window you can see a total look of mountains & almora. Their service is very nice & punctual. Food quality is also good. They have a helpful tour service also. Overall a very nice experiance I get staying there.

Poor service and poor rooms. We booked 4 bed room for family but Geyser was not working. Checked another room but Geyser was again not working. Finally 3rd room was with working Geyser but rooms, bathroom was too dirty and unhygienic. Before reaching to guest house we're getting late so we called guest house and booked room and ordered dinner with basic Dal, Mix-Veg, Roti and found worst dinner. Roti with thickness of 3-4 mm was not worthy eating for humans. Immediately responded the same to staff. We've stayed in many KMVN, GMVN hotels but this one is worst so far. Dirty rooms, bathroom and fungus infected dirty quilts. Book any local hotel and you'll be happier.

Everything about this was exceptional, and we felt no need to wander anywhere in the locality. Together with the kids, we had a great time, as the location, vibe, food, and staff were all very kind and splendid.

We were the first tourists to visit after the inauguration of the new reception. We were offered sweets for the ritual. Everyone of the staff members was very welcoming and cordial. Their hospitality made this stay extra special for us. They patiently answered all our queries about the locality and the region. They also shared their knowledge which made Almora and the whole of Kumaon much more exciting in our eyes than they already were. The room was great. We opted for a super deluxe which I would say was great for 1 night. The blankets pillow covers and bed sheets were washed and clean. All the appliances are in good working conditions. The big windows added to the charm. There was a separate dressing area as well. The bathroom was super clean and spacious. The geyser provides hot water 24x7. The towels were fresh and clean. Enough racks to keep all our stuff. The food was very very good and yummy. We had rice, plain dal, mixed veg, aloo fries for dinner. For breakfast, we had chai, roti, aloo sabzi and boiled eggs. Extra brownie points for the food alone. The location is outstanding. The main market (Mall Road) is about a kilometre away. You can see Nanda Ghumti, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nanda Khat and Nanda Kot from the compound. The compound in itself is very beautiful. We were there in Dusshera and we could see the local Ravan badh in the ground below from the property itself. Value for money : They have good arrangements for parking and the drivers too. Their charges come at a very minimal rate. Would highly recommend for a leisurely gateway. Makes for a good vacation. Bonus tip : Once you come down to the main road, if you walk 5 min to the left, there is a school playground. You can get a mesmerising view of the peaks from there.
