Hotel Jeewan Palace & Joshju's restaurant is located at Mall Road, Almora, Uttarakhand. It is opposite Bhairav temple and center of the city. We stayed there for one night and our experience was an average. Room cleanliness was average as so much dust was on the floor. Bed sheets and towel was not so sparkling clean. Washroom was little smelly. Room size was not so big. Room has some spaces around doors where cool winds can come inside. Table was not so cleaned. Parking four wheelers is little difficult here. It has a restaurant on the first floor. I would avoid this property and wouldn't recommend it for staying here .

Nice and cosy place to stay, if you are in or around Almora
I visited Almora in the first week of May, 2016.||I booked 3 rooms and had a pleasant stay with my family.||Rooms, pillows, bed sheet everything was neat and clean. Staff was very nice, TV was working well, hot water was available. Nice location, just a few steps away from the main market. Food at Joshju's restaurant was just amazing and well in budget. Everything was up to the mark. Only one thing I would like to complain about is the "crockery" they used to provide tea. All in all, I enjoyed staying there. And I would like to refer this hotel. This is best at this price.
Food to me, goes beyond a means of sustenance ...it has something to tell. Always!||||Kumaon is known for its spell-binding views of the Himalayas, peaceful retreats in the mountains and impatient rivers, but food rarely finds a mention. The restaurant of the Jeewan hotel- 'Joshju's' tucked in the suave hill-station takes the tourists to a different level. Scalloped stainless steel platters, bowls and glasses with warm food actually.smell better than Dior! Joshju's is, most definitely, worth a visit! ||||The owner, Siddhart Joshi introduced us to the eclectic (and mostly unknown) Kumaoni cuisine with great interest. The hot chapattis made from flour obtained from mudd (millet seeds) and buckwheat with pahari alu ( fried delectable potato wedges with local condiments), bhatt ki daal ( mixture of lentils boiled together, seasoned and served with dollops of butter), jholi (something like punjabi kurry) and exotic bhaang ki chutney were a few dishes that we tasted here! The quality of food was excellent! ||||So the next time you are in Kumaon to admire the magnificence of the snow-capped peaks squeeze in a day or two to explore the food offered by this restaurant - it will certainly spice up your Himalayan experience!||||We didn't stay overnight in Almora, but, Siddhart took us around the neat and tidy rooms they have in offer for the tourists. The rooms are a bit small...but, loaded with adequate facilities. The courtesy offered by the staff and the owner was stupendous!||||On our way back from Binsar, we informed Siddharth to keep the same menu ready for us one more time. He handed the portions and watched them scooped out with the same speed and gusto- surely we were looking like the cannibals at a feast! :-)
[20/05 10:00 am] Sunil Upreti: Can't describe in words. Its just too good. The rooms, bathroom, staff, canteen facilities, the food all were fantastic. The behavior of the owner n the whole staff was excellent. Jeewan palace hotel s one of the best hotel in Almora .It gives much more facilities in most economic rates.Hats off 2 the management of hotel Jeewan palace.||[20/05 10:07 am] Sunil Upreti: Person posted at reception s a bit rude. He should be soft spoken n act nice 2 the guest. We find him slight uncooperative. He s sincere , hard worker appears to be honest but little hard in his tone.Rest he s fine.
Good: location is in center of city. And Staff was understanding of our issues (but couldn't resolve them anyway) Bad: rooms was very cold with cold air seeping in from cracks and windows. No heater available even on extra payment. Room condition was also not good.
Hotel Jeewan Palace is located in the front of Bhairav mandir. You can is easily see the hotel from the road. When I visited this hotel it was under construction and they were innovating things. The service provided in the hotel was decent enough and t h e y take care of all your basic needs. This hotel can be a good substitute for hotel Shikhar of Almora.
In city center. Walking distance from bus/taxi station, petrol pump, main market.one good thing is Atm, bank, Indian restaurant is inside hotel campus but very Small parking space so check for the same before done your booking. Owners are very nice person and their staff is cooperative. You can also try kumaon traditional receipe here.
